****A.J. Epenesa commits to Iowa****

And he has younger brothers. Hopefully they grow up to be like their big brother and father.

:rolleyes:This is so awesome. Committing early enough that he can impact so many others.

The only confusing thing here is how in the heck this is true. Stephen Patrick hasn't reported it so I am skeptical if AJ really committed. .......

He's in the woods with no cell signal, he'll be here shortly to break the good news.

Big if he stays committed.
If there's one thing the D could really use it's a pass rush.

Rivals must be pretty cautious giving 5 stars. Number 1 at his position and still a 4 star. Doesn't really matter. With his offer list it feels like we are getting a 5 star.

They'll give him his fifth star during his senior season.

I wonder why some are even entertaining the thought he may not stay committed....geez guys he said he's always wanted to be a hawk, his family is part of the hawk family. They love the hawks, he's a hawk, he ain't going now where.

Most likely his older sister who plays volleyball at Purdue. if they knew he was committing, bet she made the trip with them.
Correct, his older sister. He wanted to commit last month but she wasn't able to be there so they waited until she could be there. She drove over to meet them in Iowa.

I'm guessing the Iowa gear the family was wearing wasn't purchased the day of the photo shoot (i.e. they're a Hawk family). This kid isn't going to go "all Piersbacher" on us..........................;)

I've been away from the boards and what a tremendous surprise to comeback and read of AJ's commitment! I could not be happier! And I believe will AJ will honor his verbal and stay with the Hawkeyes. The 2017 class is going to be awesome!
