Wolfe never knew how to finish his novels (Bonfire of the Vanities is the famous example), but A Man in Full's ending wasn't bad, and very 21st century. It's not beyond the realm that Roman religious practices and idolatry of Zeus could make a big comeback if the right huckster/Preacher came along. Donald Trump became President, seems like anything is possible.
