What exactly happened to all the preseason hype about mends? Thought he showed glimpses in past (blocked punt against northwestern), any idea why he suddenly is in the dog house?

They threw him in and the raider package throughout the Rutgers game. Never sniffed the backfield.
Not sure if pass rushing is his strength or coverage.

The kid was on the field several times the last 2 weeks played a lot against Ia St and it wasn't good he will get better but not ready to be a starter yet to tell you the truth he looks slow like the rest of them

This is same Mends that posters criticized for missing tackles in spring game. Now you want to see him miss tackles in real games???

Over dramatic? There was not much drama in that statement to begin with, and miss tackles in a real game? I think our defense has managed to do that enough with minimal help from Mends.

I'd rather see Mends miss a tackle than Bower get engulfed by blockers and not even be in on the play.
