Aaron White on ESPN now.

wonder why he played for that team and not the iowa TBT team
Besides a better chance to win like legend said, there is a connection to this team. One of the Hines brothers played for Fran at Greensboro and white had a connection with a few of the players from zalgiris and playing in the euroleague the past couple years. Team Hines was missing their top PG (calathes) who left TBT to return to Greece to play for their national team per the broadcast today. White had a couple threes go in and out today, wish he would have played some in the second half. James didn’t play very well either. Sorry to see them eliminated.

I was a little shocked he didn't get in more. They had some guys who were struggling offensively. He took advantage of his matchup for an easy bucket in the first. Another 3 point attempt was half way down.

White worked well with Calathas. Fun team to watch when Calathas was with them.

I liked calathas at the point. Real crafty and looked to distribute. They lacked that with him out, James is score first and the ball sticks in his hands.
Noticed Walkup played more today. He was absent in the first few games.

Really like the way they end the games though.
Rewarded for good offense and the game always ends on a made basket.

We actually reached out to him a very long time ago in the process and he was already committed to Team Hines.
We will certainly reach out to him for next year especially considering they barely used him. He would certainly have a nice role with Iowa United.

Your roster left a lot to be desired this year, especially in the backcourt. Jok would have helped but I would have rather seen Mike Gessell or Wes Washpun than those Drake guys.

I would forget the fundraising gimmicks of Fizer and Gustafson and focus on value add players.

How about Woodbury?

Interesting. So even though Fran Fraschilla on national television says how good our guards are you think they are pretty bad? And you think mike gesell who was not even a great college player and Woodbury would be good? Yikes.

Again trust me when I tell you every reasonable person you think we should have called from all of the 4 schools we called all of them. It was year 1...its not that easy.

I watched the game. Your backcourt was abused.

Gessell was one of Iowa's all time leading assist PGs. He would have shredded the MVC. We saw what Ellingson did in that conference.
Woodbury was honorable mention all big 10 and a solid player in the G league.

I guess I don't see how Cyrus Tate and Matt Tiby were better but oh well.

Abused probably isnt accurate. We held their best player who was a guard to 15.
I'm not sure what to tell you other than Josh young, Tyrus, Peter, and reed are just better players than Mike.
The tournament only lets you roster 9 guys and anybody over that cost you a $1000. Well this isn't the easiest thing to pay for already so when you start talking about 2 or 3 or 4 extra guys that adds up pretty quick.
I went back and looked and we did reach out to Woodbury really really early on and he was not available for this.
And again it was the 1st year which we knew was going to be the hardest. Most of the guys want to come back or at least the ones you would think we would want to have back and will add a few pieces and a few better players. It's going to take us a little time for sure.

Cougil?

Yeah the kid got hot. Not always something you can prevent. If early went for 30 people would be saying how he went off. We took our chances that frankamp wouldn't go off. It happens. This thing is all guards.
It is not surprising that coach Horner would decide to leave the best 3 point shooters open.
