The attendance will be terrible at MSG for these games.
Cause tonight's Rutgers Minnesota game was a sell out...

Because an 11 vs. 14 first round match up is the end all be all for this year's tourney.

There are 100,000 Big 10 alumni living in the NYC area. Attendance is not going to be a problem.

Approximate drive times from Big Ten cities to NYC
Lincoln, NE - 21 hours
Minneapolis, MN - 18 hours
Iowa City, IA - 15 hours
Madison, WI - 14 hours
Evanston, IL - 12.5 hours
Champaign, IL - 12.5 hours
Bloomington, IN - 12 hours
West Lafayette, IN - 12 hours
East Lansing, MI - 10 hours
Ann Arbor, MI - 9.5 hours
Columbus, OH - 8.5 hours
State College, PA - 4 hours
College Park, MD - 3.5 hours
East Brunswick, NJ - 1 hour

So in a 14 team league, exactly 3 campuses will be within less than a full workday's drive of the conference's premier post-season basketball event.

But if driving isn't your thing, fear not fellow travelers! It's 2015 and EVERYONE can afford to fly...especially college kids....any time and anyplace they want for mere pennies!

Fans are willing to drive that far or pay that much (or more - think Pasadena) to attend bowl games. There's no reason to believe they wouldn't be willing spend the time or money to attend this tournament.
