After Nebraska and Maryland laid an egg last night I think the B1G will be playing underdog tonight but this still could come down to Iowa again. Last year Iowa ended up getting the deciding 8th win despite three other games going on after the win (all of which the B1G lost). Its looking very likely that the ACC could go 4-2 tonight and get back the trophy for the first time since 2008. However I wouldnt be surprised if the B1G got a win or two from Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois. If Michigan St holds the Challenge could come down to Iowa again.

Frankly, I was rather surprised that Nebraska could hang with Miami even on their home floor. Maryland looked very lackluster and disinterested for the greater part of the first half. Looking at the upcoming matchups, I see a 7-7 tie this year, unless we play more like the Marquette game rather than the Dayton game. Florida St. is a very talented team.

Nebraska has some guys that have upped their games in the offseason. White has been a nice transfer addition for them and plays smarter basketball then Petteway did. They are also getting some good play from two of their freshmen.

I'll bet that if we beat FSU and someone asks the players, "How did it feel to anchor the winning Big Ten in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge?", to man every Hawkeye will say something like, "Huh? oh, that's neat. We did?"

You guys will beat FSU pretty easily. They have more talent but they are young and should be easy to frustrate with Iowa's experience.

I see that somebody mentioned Indiana winning tonight. Uhm, no.

Not that Indiana would win just saying I wouldnt be surprised. Indiana is a team that could beat anyone in the country and then go out and lose to a team rated outside the top 200.

I agree with that Auger. The bigger the stage the better the chance that Indiana's guys decide to play a whole game.

Nebraska is a lot more athletic this year and moves the ball around a lot better. Not so much drive down the floor and settle for long jump shots right away. The team still needs to find a consistent third scorer though.

All three losses have been to ranked foes, with the Villanova game the only one that really got away from them. Will be interesting to see how Big Ten play turns out with this team.

After last season is Miles feeling any heat this year? I've been following Morrow's stats as compared to Wagner at Iowa. I'm thinking we might have a couple of clones.

I've heard that Izzo has been complaining about the new "freedom of movement" rules, which is understandable given the way they like to play. We'll see whether the refs have the balls to enforce these rules across the board evenly or whether once the bullets really start flying, they ignore the new directives.
