After blasting Crean yesterday, Michael Wilbon (PTI) hit Fran again

stating, "We don't like him." Even though Wilbon is mostly an ass, his Chicago connections could hurt Iowa recruiting. Of course he is a big NW booster and a alum.

Who is "we"?
Its amazing the amount of Nwestern grads who are butt hurt about the hawks! If its not Wilbon, its Greenburg going off on all thing Iowa. Of course we all know the wood that Fitz has for the hawks. You would think they could just be happy with the direction that Collins has their team headed.
When you think about it, Iowa must be doing something right. I mean on any given day we're the most hated rival by Nebby, Nwestern, Iowa State, or Minny. Thats pretty hard to pull off for a team thats supposed to be so irrelevant to everyone.

Wilbon recently said that anyone voting for Matt Ryan for MVP should be fired. That alone tells you he is either an idiot or is just saying outrageous things in a desperate attempt to generate PTI viewers.

I imagine most listeners are bored by it honestly.

Imagine Dan Patrick or Ryen Russilo talking about hating Providence coach Ed Cooley. Zzzzzzzzz

Wilbon: "I also hate Hawaii's director of basketball operations. Guy's a tool. And don't get me started on Western Kentucky's policy regarding ball boys."

I had to Google Mike Wilbon ... I recognize the face but that's it. Another of the 1 million "talking heads" I assume ...
I get that he and Kornhauser are kind of a clown show, but we can't act like they don't exist. Their on a nationally televised show thats on five days a week, in every state. People do watch their show. Luckily for schools like Iowa, that have become their personal whipping boys, I think most sensible people realize their a couple of tools.

If I heard right, sounded like Wilbon praised the Rider coach for walking off without shaking hands with Siena. He said it was smart because it avoided a confrontation between players etc. But Fran is a jerk when he did it.

The demographic for Kornheiser, Wilbon, Whitlock, Stephen Loudmouth Smith and their kind are fantasy sports junkies living in their parents basement, guys with XM who drive a lot, guys who travel and find themselves in sports bars at 2pm, and guys who have ESPN on 24-7.

People who do not listen to these talking head social justice warriors are high school athletes with smart phones, friends, practice, games, girls, and video games. Outside of Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, I doubt many kids can name a sports personality.

I accidentally walked through the living when my wife was watching the new Celebrity Apprentice. Eric Dickerson, Boy George, and Ricky Williams.... wow did that make me feel old.

A few years back I thought they had a good thing going. Now it's too obviously staged for viewing.

You think high school kids consider Wilbon's opinion when picking a school? You thinking .001% or does that seem high to you also?

Unless Wilbon has a kid who is good at basketball which I can never imagine happening, Wilbon will never impact a recruit's decision!

Actually his kid played football, and yes Iowa was recruiting him initially I believe. I'm sure we never got the time of day. Not sure where he ended up.

Wiki says his kid is 8 years old. Must be really good at football
Not trying to make that up, I'm almost positive he had a kid that was being recruited a couple of years back, and Iowa looked at him initially. I think he was a running back or something. If not, sorry about that.

Wut?

Looks like a nephew, who is at Nebraska

I'm not a big PTI guy or any ESPN show anymore but those of you pretending not to know who he is can't be all that serious. He has been around for quite some time and just like the rest of the idiots on ESPN, they play to personalities that keep them on tv. clearly a lot of people watch them or they wouldn't be on the air this long .

Wilbon has gotten a lot angrier in the last year. He seems to be pissed off at the world. He has been a lot sharper with his commentary.

I'm curious if ESPN gave him some "career advise". Like, be more controversial and less the lovable Willy Buns, or you're gone.

It used to be that Tony was the controversial part of the duo...but he seems to be the sane one now.

He saw the reaction Colin Cowturd got so he decided to up his ratings by hating on all things Iowa to increase viewership, email and twitter correspondence.

No, I think that title belong to Jason Whitlock.
You are right on there. I am in KC, he was on local sports radio some years ago here. pretty much got run out. Big on lb's, lacking in any type of substance except the color of his skin

If you don't like it over here just think about the football board. PRAPHRASE! It’s amazing the amount of Iowa grads who are butt hurt about the Huskers! If it’s not Miller, it’s the Iowa fans going off on all thing Nebraska. Of course we all know the wood that Kirk has for the Huskers. You would think they could just be happy with the direction their team is headed. When you think about it, Nebraska must be doing something right. First off, I have no earthly idea who your talking too. I have never,(not once), been on the website of any other team, especially Nebraska. I couldn't care less what or who goes on your site. No do I give two shakes about your program. I was only stating well no facts about Nwestern grads in the liberal media who use Iowa as there national punching bag, most of which is unwarrented. As for the other schools listed, we have one (Minny), who chants" who hates Iowa" at every sporting event, no matter who their playing. If thats not a little brother syndrome I don't know what is. As for ISU and Nebby, the fact that your here, just proves my point doesn't it?
