I just think he has the most explosiveness in the run and pass game for Iowa. I think he needs to be our #1 for 2016. I don't think KF will do it....we shall see I guess.

He looks very explosive. He and CJB are good starts at the skill positions now here's hoping we can find some playmakers to catch the ball and our O-line pass blocks better.

I think we're going to find out that Jerminic Smith can/will be a playmaker. I am also interested in seeing what Eric Graham brings to the table, I know he is fast.

It was apparent that Daniels is just not explosive enough to get it done, Wadley needed to see more playing time. I believe he needs to be featured next season. Iowa needs explosiveness at the skill positions. When the receivers were unable to get open, and you are playing a plodder at running back it certainly does not cause the defense to play with fear.

Daniels wasn't the problem today. They'll be a good combo backfield next year.
Offensive line, the staple of our program, was dreadful today.
Lack of dynamic d linemen crippled us the last 2 games. Can't be ab elite team without some really good cats playing on the dline especially at end. We had great hard working kids up there bit against top flight competition, our lack of athleticism and playmaking on the line showed.

Daniels could not make anyone miss and he was unable to run over anyone. Would Iowa have won with Wadley, I do not think anyone is proclaiming that. Just saying Iowa needed someone explosive on offense to take some pressure off of CJB.

Its hard for me to argue with any of this.

Wadley is their only back that has shown that he can turn the corner. He should have been above Canzeri and Daniels on the depth chart

To me I don't care who starts but I agree Wadley needs to see the field more and I think that will happen with Canzeri graduating. I would like to see both him and Daniels touch the ball 15-18 times a game and if one gets hot you ride the hot hand.

I think the biggest need next year is the WR position. We are in desperate need of a deep threat that demands double coverage or help over the top all the time. Vandenberg is a solid slot/possesion guy but we have no one that takes the top off.

Wadley has to get the majority of carries. Need someone, anyone, that provides a spark.

It seems to me that the biggest yardage days happened when Iowa featured one back because of injuries, Wadley and Canzeri.

I love our RB's for next year. Wadley is a star in the making. DMX is proving to be the real deal. Daniels is far from bad and he'll improve. And Eric Graham will probably finish 2nd in the Heisman. After tonight we we all know who will win it next year. And I think our line will be even better next year. But we'll miss the seniors for sure.

I would like to see Mitchell get more carries.

honestly, I think he looks like a lot better athlete and he can pass catch. Wadley and Mitchell look like they have the requisite athleticism.

Daniels, he is big, strong, but just zero shimmy and balance. You look at a RB like Howard for Indiana and then look at Daniels, and there is no comparison. I know it is harsh, but the eyes don't lie.

Once upon a time we had a guy named Derek Willies who we could not keep in the program that is a JUCO all-American.

Probably LD because Wadley does not fit KF's style at running back. KF likes big slow guys.

He wouldn't be able to stay healthy, too small.

True if all you do is run him between the tackles. The ball in space is what Wadley needs, but that would take a coach who believes in leveraging a player's skills. KF does not everyone has to fit the mold, thus we continue to get blown away by premier teams in big games. KF will never get it!!

Wadley and Mitchell are two excellent RBs. Two different sizes and styles, and they should be the top two guys next year with Daniels in the wings. Graham might be another speedy guy who could get worked in there, but nobody's seen him yet.

But Wadley has the speed and moves and Mitchell has the hands and power, so these are your two featured backs for 2016. But don't bet on GD/KF to figure that one out.

I cannot figure out why Daniels hardly ever gets yards after contact. He's a big body and apparently a weightroom freak. He should be running over people

Hopefully all three guys -- Wadley, Daniels, and Mitchell -- get their opportunities. Mitchell does seem to be a good third-down back, but he can run it, too. We'll almost certainly need all three guys, but I agree that we need to feature the guy with the most big-play ability as long as his ball security is good. That seems to be Wadley at this point.

As for a deep threat at WR, Jerminic Smith can fly. Hopefully he gets a lot more PT next season.

Silly idea. Who will be our FB next year? Any chance they move LD into that role? Let him put on another 10-20# in the off-season. With his body style and a "little" brother the size of James, he could definitely make that adaptation. I'm assuming his knowledge of the running game would help him understand FB blocking assignments. That may be the way for him to be a difference-maker for this team.

The number one priority is to expand the playbook and be more creative, why can't Iowa have two RB's on the field at once?

Daniels should be moved to FB full time. Teams read Iowa's tell when Daniels is on the field. Mitchell is the pass blocking back and screen /release option. Defenses know Iowa's personnel. Daniels is not pro material. He is needs to used like Edgar Cervantes. Has Daniels caught a pass in a game? Wadley, Mitchell, and Graham needs reps doing all aspects of RB position to keep defenses honest. That and improving the WR corp. Like no more Jonathan Parker sweeps/ end arounds unless he shows a presences at WR in receiving passes. One dimensional players. Real playmakers are multifaceted.

Wonder why Iowa's restructured line looked so good at NW? Wadley got the bulk of the carries. He's the guy

Wadley averages 6.2 ypc for his career. That's on par with McCaffrey and Henry. Wadley's 10 yd split time, I've heard, is 1.42 and that's close to the NFL combine record of 1.40. He has the potential to be a McCaffrey type player.
