Gonna miss this dude, more than any in recent memory.
I've said it before and others can back me up. I've been rooting for this guy from the very start. Just so much natural ability and has those amazing cuts with speed. Will be missed.
Hell to the yes to this thread! I just simply think he's the best Iowa running back I have ever seen going back to Harmon.
How many games has he won for us? Look at his games against some of the stoutest defenses. Michigan last year and OSU this year.

If there was a stat for broken ankles He'd lead the nation.GREAT Hawkeye.
The upside to this bowl game is how many of his friends and family will get to see him play live.
Class act as well - never once seen him react negatively or complain when not gaining yards against teams that stacked the box and there was no where to run.

Akrum is a very special player who never waivered in his commitment to Iowa Football. Despite some personal ups and downs (Fumbles) as well as some team struggles (run blocking) and some head scratching play calling he always gave 100% on the field and was a leader on and off it.
I hope to see him making NFL defenses whiff and making it rain with real 100 dollar bills after touchdowns,

He's one I'm still going to miss 10-20 years ago, for sure - like Shonn Greene and Tavian Banks. If he'd run behind a vintage Iowa line, he'd be in the Heisman conversation.

Yes, where did Mitchell star once he left Iowa? I didn't follow him this year but know he left as a grad transfer and could play immediately. Update us please?
His vids were great in HS...ISM reminded me a lot him with some of the crazy athleticism they showed.
Akrum will always be remembered as one of the all time great Hawkeyes. One thing good about playing in the pinstripe bowl is that his family and friends will have a short drive to come and watch him play. Hope he has a big game.
