No chance. That would mean UNI is an 8/9 seed. They won't be higher than a 12. I think that it could end up with a 4/13 matchup with Iowa vs UNI. They didn't play this year. Can absolutely see that happening.
And as a Hawkeye fan, I'll take that match-up. Would be a Woody DUNK fest, don't you think?

Woody dunkfest...... lol..... Not sure how the teams match up, but it would sure be interesting. Mock on Evansville is one of the best bigs in NCAA, and he couldn't guard Carlson, I don't think Woodbury would be able to. Gesell could probably neutralize Washpun though. Uthoff vs Morgan would be another interesting matchup. Iowa probably wins, but don't let your superiority complex think that Mighty Iowa would crush UNI, when UNI has had the better program the last 10 years.
They would never put a protected seed, particularly a one seed, at a home court disadvantage like that. Same reason iowa won't play UNI in DSM.
Dynamic slashing PG and play defense. They are also very mentally strong and clutch. All things Iowa struggles with.

As for Iowa and UNI, I don't want to see that game in the NCAA tourney. I have too much respect for both teams, and I would hate to see one knock the other out. Especially since it could well be the Hawkeyes who would be sent home.
Anyone who thinks Iowa would automatically beat UNI hasn't been paying attention for the last 15 years or so. And this year is no different. UNI is talented, plays tremendous defense, and is mentally tough. I don't think you'll find any of the other NCAA tourney teams volunteering to play the Panthers. I know #1 seed UNC wouldn't. And I'm pretty sure George and his gang from Ames wouldn't.
Sell the Panthers short at your own risk. Personally, I couldn't respect that team--that program--more than I do. I wish them great success in the dance, and I hope the Panthers' and Hawkeyes' paths do not cross...unless it's at the Final Four.

I think it's great that uni made the dance. Gets me that much more invested having another team I'd like to see do well.

UNI has played great against very good teams and could beat Iowa, for sure. But my money would be on the Hawks. Hopefully neither will eliminate the other because I would like to see us both do well.
Not sure who would win given the Hawks late struggles, but it would be a very tough game. UNI plays really good defense, but offense is struggling from the three.

Wouldn't want to face UNI, they may just be one the top 60 most dangerous teams in the NCAA tourney, right behind Yale.
The last time Fran visited the said mid-major, he got his arse handed to him, then he got tossed, then he took his ball and went home like a little girl. The End.

If UNI plays Iowa, they will play like their pants are on fire. They have major chips on their shoulders against ISU and Iowa.
