I like this OP. My $0.02 worth...I would flip the 1987 and 1980 team. I know the records are different, but the 1980 team made it to the Final Four. They deserve the #1 seed IMHO.

Why are there only 2 of our 3 Final Four teams on the list?

You have 79, 80, 81, and 82. Plus 87,88, and 89 for consecutive teams on the list. I don’t think a 4th place nationally team should be left off the list.

Well the '55 team won only 2 games in the tournament. Eye test I guess and most were on the '56 team as well. 19 - 7 overall, maybe they should have been a 3 seed or 4...

Those 79 - 82 teams were seeded 4, 5, 3 & 6 in the national tourney. 87 - 89 teams were seeded 2, 4 & 5 in the NCAA tourney.
