You're joking I assume. I think it's pretty obvious that he's the best player in the country. Not only is he the best corner, he's also top 6 in receiving yards, 3rd in receptions, and second in TD's. Guy's an unbelievable 2 way talent, the likes of which haven't been seen in decades.popularity contest
Jeanty is well deserving, but tbh Hunter had a pretty insane year. Jeanty would have won it easy had we not had a top 5 player on both sides of the ball playing WR and CB.popularity contest
Playing both ways and putting up the numbers he has on both sides of the ball is pretty impressive. You're joking I assume. I think it's pretty obvious that he's the best player in the country. Who else could possibly have won it? It's supposed to go to the best football player in America, and Travis Hunter is an All-American . . . on both sides of the ball! Hell, he's on the field for over 100 plays a game, and he's spectacular. Any other choice would have made the Heisman totally irrelevant.
There's a case to be made for the RB that has 4th most yards all time with at least 1 game remaining. There are RBs that have won it with fewer yards and TDs.Who else could possibly have won it? And although I know there are plenty of racists who hate Coach Prime, his team is pretty damn good. So is his son, the QB, and Hunter is clearly the best football player in the land. And I love Colorado.
They got it right this year. But it takes a performance like the above to do it.You're joking I assume. I think it's pretty obvious that he's the best player in the country. I think the closeness of the voting showed that there were 2 historically great seasons this year, but only one of them had a truly significant impact on both sides of the ball. Jeanty was easily the best offensive player in college this year, and his season was one for the ages. Hunter was the best overall player in the country this year with perhaps the best two way season since Jim Thorpe over 100 years ago. There's a case to be made for the RB that has 4th most yards all time with at least 1 game remaining. Would it have been meaningless if Kaleb would have won?You know how meaningless this award is, when most people don't even know it was awarded yesterday.
Yep. Nobody I know gives a crap about it anymore. Maybe only some fans of the winning player's school. It's totally forgettable anymore.Would it have been meaningless if Kaleb would have won?
It is supposed to be a trophy for the best overall football player and sometimes those players are not on the best team.Playing both ways and putting up the numbers he has on both sides of the ball is pretty impressive.
Desmond Howard won it as a receiver and kick returner who also was a runner on reverses and other plays. You're joking I assume. I think it's pretty obvious that he's the best player in the country. Not only is he the best corner, he's also top 6 in receiving yards, 3rd in receptions, and second in TD's. Guy's an unbelievable 2 way talent, the likes of which haven't been seen in decades.
Not even close to what Hunter accomplished this year.Desmond Howard won it as a receiver and kick returner who also was a runner on reverses and other plays.
Charles Woodson won it primarily as a defensive back with 7 INTs his senior season but he returned punts and kicks and I and also ran the ball and caught about 40 passes looking at some stats. He had about 1000 scrimmage yards in his career. He was on a team that was packed with talent so he didnt get the focus like players now.
I do think it is not the event it was in 80’s or 90’s. But it’s still a big deal to the players .Yep. Nobody I know gives a crap about it anymore. Maybe only some fans of the winning player's school. It's totally forgettable anymore.
Sure, but we've never seen a Travis Hunter in modern college football before. Melvin Gordon had a better season than Jeanty less than a decade ago. There's a case to be made for the RB that has 4th most yards all time with at least 1 game remaining. There are RBs that have won it with fewer yards and TDs.
That's precisely what I said in post 5.Sure, but we've never seen a Travis Hunter in modern college football before. Melvin Gordon had a better season than Jeanty less than a decade ago.
One had an incredible year and the other is a generational talent.
Lol. My 72 year old mom was texting me the whole night about it.You know how meaningless this award is, when most people don't even know it was awarded yesterday.
It was a bit strangeweird presentation.
I don’t recall a nominee being interviewed with his coach and teammate instead of his parents. THjr thanked his dad who wasn’t there with him, while Lil Wayne was. I can’t imagine missing my son being named the Heisman Trophy winner.
Congrats to Travis, it’ll be interesting to see how early a CB is taken in the draft.
It always seems to be, which sucks. Sometimes they do get it right, but not as prestigious an award as it used to be.popularity contest
I guess I just don't get this. What are all of the examples of guys that didn't win it that should have due to it being a "popularity contest"?It always seems to be, which sucks. Sometimes they do get it right, but not as prestigious an award as it used to be.
Dad wasn't there, huh? Real shocker.weird presentation.

Probably. That's why QB's usually win this award. Qb's and goalies. Most important positions in sports.Gabriel will end up having the biggest impact on his team's success in the postseason.
Yawn... glad your 72 year old mom cares. That ought to tell you something... Her and you...Lol. My 72 year old mom was texting me the whole night about it.
If you didn't know it was on last night, you're simply not a football fan. Which is fine, but there's no need to tout your ignorance and claim that everyone else is just like you.
It's still far and away the most respected individual trophy in all of sports.
We're sports fans, so it makes sense that we care. As do other sports fans considering that it was all over TV and social media the last few weeks.Yawn... glad your 72 year old mom cares. That ought to tell you something... Her and you...
Jeanty and his dad both said he got screwed. Pretty classless, really. “I should have walked away with it,” Jeanty.player comparisons

His team was 9 and 3 in a so so conference. As for your racist comment, I presume you are at the very least as wealthy as Musk, since you seem to be able to read what's in the hearts and minds of others. What a joke.
