I turned it on that game 4 times and never saw him in. I must have had bad timing.
he only played 4 min; i didn't see the game; must have been garbage time?
any way, he got his March Madness moment; more than any of our current sophomores and freshman can say
Good to see his experience vs Villanova two years ago paid off, still shooting 1.000 from the floor in his NCAA tourney career! Bill Walton only made 21 of 22 that one NCAA final, so even he can't claim to be perfect.
He got more minutes in the NCAA tourney than he would ever have had if he'd stayed at Iowa.
True to form for a Fran 3-pt specialist. Only time he can go off is garbage time when no one guards.
Fleming has been a bench player for Lipscomb all year. He got in during garbage time against NC and made a couple of shots. Since Lipscomb returns most of their team next year he'll be a bench player next year as well. He's just a marginal lower level Division 1 player that had no business getting a scholarship to a school like Iowa. There are other players from Nashville on Lipscomb's team who were better prospects coming out of high school but didn't receive better offers because they didn't have Fleming's "measurables".
He had scholarship offers from Florida, Auburn, Memphis, Nebraska and UNLV. They must have had bad talent evaluators as well.
The legitimacy of Fleming’s reported offers has been debated at length, especially as it relates to those offers being real at the time of his original commitment. I seriously doubt they existed, it wouldn’t be the first nor last time a player reported offers the didn’t really exist
Gotcha. I always like to see the players from Nashville (where my kids went to school) do well at the next level and I wish Fleming would have succeeded at a big school like Iowa, but those of us who watched him play regularly thought Iowa was a big stretch. Maybe he'll turn it on at Lipscomb.
It was a joke, you had to have know the guy in question who was sure he was going to be a 4 year starter based on nothing other than blind optimism.
He averaged 27.5 minutes a game. They must have either blown out a lot of teams, or got blown out themselves if they were all garbage minutes.
