* Official FSU vs. UNC Game Day Thread *

I’m glad I don’t care as much about FSU sports as I once did because this would be demoralizing. This season is going to affect the program for a few years.
I think you are being optimistic. This season, coupled with the contract extension/buyout, we might be looking at a decade plus.

And let’s be honest, how many good seasons has the team put together the last 7 or 8 years? Being at or slightly below .500 happens more often than an 8+ win season.

Went camping this weekenf; didn't watch a single play, checked the score online twi e - at halftime, then right after they scored to start the 2nd half.
Sounds like I made a good choice.

I listened to almost all of the Iowa game on YT. I listened to a little over a quarter of our game yesterday and maybe watched for about 10 minutes. Being a Cubs and Dolphins fan, I am used to dealing with seasons like this.

Today I will be following the Browns (Winston) and the Lions (Dan Campbell.) I might listen to the Dolphins game for about a half hour.

I went to the game. We Jax Noles like to just leave town the weekend of the uf/GA cocktail party and driving over to Tally is a marginally better choice this year. No “yuge” flags planted in the beds of pickup trucks to hurt the eyes unless you’re on I-10 seeing them headed east back towards Jacksonville.
Doak Campbell looked like it did during Covid - or worse, even way back to 1975 before Bobby arrived. Nowhere near full. Even the shirtless professor reading a book has stopped coming.

By mid 4th quarter it was maybe 25% full.
Change must come to CFB overall. The NIL and the portal will have dealt a death blow to college athletics if it continues on this sudden spiral downward. One year pay for play contracts (LOL did you say scholarship?) no performance requirements has produced 18 year old mercenaries.

I was leaving room for a quicker turnaround with the new transfer rules, but you could be more correct.

Ira, Corey and Jeff Cameron have all pointed out that this is going to be the new normal in CFB. Teams will have wild swings from one year to the next due to the transfer portal rules. If we spend bigly, first on high quality assistants, and then on a fleet of portal transfers, we can be much improved next year. We'll see if the administration and the big dollar donors, who ultimately call the shots, understand this.

Can’t miss on the big ones though. No more DJU disasters.

I read this morning that FSU is the ONLY team that hasn't scored over 21 points in a game this season. That might explain why only 25% were there in the 4th quarter.

I just don't understand. People say fire Norvell, like he suddenly forgot how to coach? Or, the players aren't any good? What? I don't know what the answer is, but I think Goldmom is right. Why don't we go back to actual scholarships, and if everyone does that, with no NIL OR transfer portal, we weed out a lot of the "mercenaries" she's accurately talking about
