ANF Logo

Give me a yah or nay on who would like it moved to the back of the helmet. It was put back there for a game and I can't remember why and I wish it was left there. The tiger hawk logo is awesome and should never change but I fell it's time to move the ANF to the back or would have no problem taking it off completely. Just curious as to what others think.

Leave it. For no other reason than that logo seems to really upset people around here. I think they are under this impression that if we remove that logo the 5 stars start flocking to Iowa City.

It makes a person feel guilty to talk about removing the ANF logo because it's a worthy cause. I wonder if anybody outside of the Hawks and their fans even knows what it means though, and I agree it would be better to move it to the back and maybe make the font size a bit smaller. The Iowa helmets have always had a good, clean look to them and I hate to see anything detract from the great Tiger Hawk logo that has identified us for so long.

I too seriously doubt many outside the state knows the meaning of the ANF logo. We all know that America needs farmers or we would all starve. Being a farmer myself I would have no problem moving it to the back and making it smaller. It would look better and would change absolutely nothing about my occupation.

It was changed to an outline of the state with ANF in it and moved to the back of the helmet when Ferentz became coach, and possibly before Hayden's last season. I can't remember when it occurred. It wasn't put back on top of the helmet until the ANF game a couple years ago where they did the stadium card thing with the fans, possibly for one of the Frydaze games. I don't care where it's at on the helmet, but ANF is a tradition at Iowa whether you agree with the original principles or not. I vote to keep it.

I personally love the ANF logo on the helmet. If anything I wish it was moved to a more visible location other than the top of the helmet.

I agree that it's passed it's usefulness or even failed at its attempt as a political statement, but I think it's moved into the realm of team tradition. That's why I think it should stay. Notre Dame doesn't "Play Like Champions" any more, but they still hit the board on the way out of the locker room.

Wow. Some people outside of agriculture don't have a clue. I'm involved in the agricultural industry and estimate 5-10% of current farmers will have financial stress or hardships after this years crops. I love the ANF emblem and logo. On ANF day at Kinnick every fall I couldn't be more proud of the past Hawkeye being honored. Go Hawks !!

Ditch it! Paid advertisement for Farm Bureau (big farm lobby). Or it should state ANE ! American Needs EVERYONE! Most of the population of Iowa are not farmers and yes non-farm people are under a lot of financial stress also! It got back on the helmets because Farm Bureau and farm equipment pays $$$$$$ We already have a paid ad on the helmet disguised as the ANF logo.

As a proud farm kid I love it. I will say though that many outside of Iowa do not know that it means. Who cares? City people may long for the days when something other than agriculture symbolizes Iowa but that is delusional.
I think that the USA flag should be put back atop the Tiger Hawk on the other side.
