Anyone see this pile of crap in The Athletic by Mitch Sherman?

Honestly…. Who cares?
Honestly, both sides could have been better on this one.
(Can’t kneel on a damned mid-field logo? Really)
Nebby made a conscious decision to have this play out the way it did…but I don’t understand why the Nebby players were “banned” from praying at mid-field pre-game. But again…a whole lot about nothing. My opinion, only.
Am I understanding this correctly? We didn't allow them to gather at midfield pre-game when fans are not even in the stadium?

Iowa team and team personnel had nothing to do with it. Security was ordered to keep players off the logo pre game (for good reasons). Security just doing their job.
Yep exactly - nebraska has done this a lot in away stadiums and it has caused fights/issues. So iowa did the smart thing and prevented it.

Nebby fans and media using this as any kind of excuse or permission for their dbag behavior (for years) is hilarious. But it's never their fault anyway... so no use trying to argue with them

That…I don’t know,,,but the pre-game stuff was…..pretty-game…I’d like to know why Security folks were there and did not permit it…there might even be a reasonable explanation given.
There has to be more details forthcoming on this before it is out to bed.

Well, what might a couple of those “good reasons” be Hawk? Seems silly as hell to me…seems as dumb as Nebby not shaking hands pregame.
Security guys don’t allow prayer at midfield…wtf?
Security guys just don’t make those decisions on their own…someone told them something…maybe it was “misunderstood” but come on…

Opposing player boasted about pissing on the logo pre game while teammates circled around him supposedly in prayer.

I actually thought Rhule seemed like a good guy until Friday.
Yeah, Rhule actually did me a HUGE favor this weekend. I grew up in Western Iowa and I loathe everything Nebby, I have since before I can remember. So, then they go and bring in a Coach who I actually thought seemed like a pretty good dude, and that gave me just the ever-slightest little bit of conflict in my all-consuming hatred.

It's been rough. But now that he has shown he is just a huge doooooooooooooooooooooooshhhhhhhhhhhh, everything can go back to normal. **** Nebby, and everything associated with them.

Whatever the hell they were praying for, they weren't praying for good sportsmanship. Maybe less prayer and more soul searching would do more good for Nebraska players and they're excessive flatulence coach.

[funny thing is Nebby fought with USC at their game because USC thought the logo pep talk er prayer was disrespecting and Colorado had issues about it as well with Shadur calling Neb out for this so there has been precendent plus they do not do this at home--just away games....

What does that matter? Who cares if it caused problems at two different games already. Who cares if there were 3 other fights that happened the next day. They WANTED to do it. They should be entitled to do whatever they want. They are Nebraska. If they want to call your program that routinely wins more than 7 games a poverty program while storming the field beating a 5-7 Wisconsin to become bowl eligible, so be it.

Second hand information here. There was more to the story of the handshakes. I believe it involved Nebraska wanting to come into Iowa city on Wednesday. They wanted to use Iowa's indoor for a practice on thanksgiving and also a facility to have a large thanksgiving dinner. Iowa said No. so it had been building all week. The handshake was their way of revenge for not being catered to like they thought.
Now this is an interesting story that Id like to see pursued. Maybe be nothing but….

SIAP, but this weasel of a reporter blames IOWA for NE’s captains refusing to shake hands at the coin toss. He claims that NE was justified in their bush league, grossly and embarrassingly unsportsmanlike display… because Iowa had celebrated after beating them repeatedly, and because Iowa wouldn’t allow them to huddle on the logo at midfield before the game (those pregame rituals typically happen in the end zone for the vast majority of teams anyway).

The article is a steaming pile of dung, and Mitch Sherman deserves a slap in the face from Iowan and colleague at The Athletic, Scott Dochterman, for being an idiot. Assuming Mitch is a Nebraska alum and/or Fusker fan. If he’s actually an objective observer, he’s even more of a fool for publishing that waste of cyberspace.
Who cares Iowa vs Neb is a laughable pillow fight every year .... just both teams trying to lose to one another

The Baylor game talked about, Baylor had huge fans and tents on their side of the field and no tents and small fans for ISU. Said ISU did not inform them soon enough to get the equipment for the game.
Rhule is a total ass. Fits in well with the entitlement attitude of the majority of the Nubs fandom

To the OP’s question, Mitch Sherman is nothing but an absolute Nebber Cuck. I might say he’s their biggest one, were it not for Dick Chatelain and T-t-t-t-t-tom Shat-t-t-t-t-tel. There’s some pretty fierce competition for that distinction.

Like a typical Nebber, he writes at an 8th grade level at best. Kind of surprised The Atlantic publishes him. Not sure whose d*ck he had to suck to land that gig, but I’m sure he enjoyed it.

Stay classy Spiderdick. Making fun of a person you don't even know because he stutters. Way to represent. You are pathetic.

They caused issues crossing our 50 in 2018 and danced around in our warmups (coaches included). Thankfully our program isn’t trash and our dudes kept warming up.

And then, to top it off, Iowa wouldn't let them have seconds on pumpkin pie.
