Damn surprised I haven’t already thought of that. Add some relish and it’s a big WOULD.
I would try it, but Im a borderline monoeater so would prefer that as a deconstructed potato dog.
I’ve seen plenty of skinny people eat hot dogs and potato salad at cookouts. Only difference is they’re mixed together here.
i'm not really wild about mayo based salads, but i'd give it a bite.
I like sauerkraut on a hot dog. I also love coleslaw on a hot dog.
Potato salad belongs as a side dish only.

Hotdogs should be ate straight from the package, unmolested by heat or condiments to get all of the natural flavors.

From a place that prides itself on its chili dogs, hot dogs should only have mustard, dill relish, and chopped onions on them. No more, no less.
This kind of sums up my eating style. While living for several years in places with no electricity, or limited juice, one dish meals were typical. Many miles backpacking or canoe camping also played into this eatstyle. Pile it all together. Experiment, don’t be shy.
