Second terms are usually when the wheels come off. The President’s influence automatically drops off, quality staffers bail, investigations and scandals pile up, the voters get tired of your face, etc.

Wouldn’t it be great if the Dems could avoid all that with a different candidate and a fresh start? No lame-duck term, but a strong agenda for at least another four years?

Seems like a win-win situation, especially with Biden in the shape he’s in.

Thoughts? (Chis excluded)

You don’t think the Dems planned this “fresh start” all along whilst the liberal media played along with the gamesmanship? I can’t wait to see how they work around putting Kamala to the front.

Planned this? I don’t think so. Could be wrong.

Does Democratic leadership actually believe Kamala would win over Trump?

This might be worthy of its own thread, but logistically and operationally, is a dropout / new candidate situation feasible?
Finding, agreeing to, and presenting a new candidate raises multiple issues, including the ballot questions and possible lawsuits.
Then the money,
Could the new candidate use Biden's election funds?
Would one PAC transfer all the money to a new candidate PAC ( super and others)?

While it would be great to snap fingers and have two new candidates, is it even possible four months out from election day?

Wouldn’t this also apply to Trump? Or will he be president for life like he wants?

But what about democracy? Biden has gone through primaries and caucuses and is the presumptive nominee of his party. Do we want our candidate picked in back room deals?

Sure. Trump’s first term was a mess. The second one will be a disaster.
