I'm sorry that is just a despicable comment. I don't care what's going on between you two and I don't care who you are. Commenting on someone's wife or child is just low.
Who knows, ppl are weird. I simply made a joke comment and he attacked me being a single dad. Where he got me being absent from my daughters life is perplexing?
I guess he doesn't like that I'm a single parent. If anything, being "somewhat" African American and having a child out of wedlock is pretty normal. However I'm a college grad, have custody of my daughter, make pretty good money, and own a home. I think I've defied the odds.
If you look at our posting styles, which one of us comes off as more than a bit pissy on the regular? Swag is doing just fine and doesn't take the message board fodder too seriously, however if there is something that needs to be clarified I am more than happy to oblige.
I didn't call her fat, or homely (which others have done in the past) I said I'm glad they found each other.

No you didn't but saying "some of us have options" pretty much indicates that you find something about her distasteful. Given that all you know about her is her appearance then I'm gonna say it probably has something to do with that.

It's at the bottom of the world. You picture yourself being upside down, and the blood runs to your head, and it has an effect on your brain. Same thing happens sometimes when people talk about Australia, but the phenomenon isn't as pronounced.

He graduated in meteorology. The meteorology department at Mississippi State did not buy into the global warming as he put it. Was not a question of me reviewing data. I thought it interesting that a major university's meteorology department wasn't buying in. That's all. Again, DO NOT SHOOT THE MESSENGER DAMN IT.
I'm simply pointing out: if your 'Meteorology' buddy is buying into the claims that 'Arctic sea ice is recovering', you should probably look at the data for yourself, rather than listen to a completely false claim. If their profs are so out-of-touch that they cannot review simple data for themselves, then I can't really presume their department is considered 'at the top of the list' with respect to geosciences rankings....or science in general, for that matter.
Here is what Arctic Sea Ice has been doing for the past 40+ years:
Did it 'jump 20%' from the major drop in 2007? Yep, but what's the trend doing? This year, we hit the 4th LOWEST Arctic sea ice minimum recorded since we started getting satellite data.
This is the equivalent of you having ~$900 invested in the stock market, and continuing to lose money, just before a major crash where you lost ~40% of your original money, down to $500. Then, you 'got a 20% jump', meaning you have $500 * 1.2, or $600 now.
When you started out at $900 and now have $600 (with an overall downward trend), are you going to continue to claim your account is 'increasing' or 'has recovered'??!! That is what your meteorologists buddies are claiming.

I am asking you to look at the data for yourself, to ascertain whether the message you are conveying is accurate and correct....
The data I'd posted has NOTHING to do with 'glaciers', nor did I post anything about glaciers; it has to do with the Arctic (polar) sea ice extent.
If I were 'shooting the messenger', I would be alledging that YOU are wrong. I never stated that, I asked you to review the data for yourself relative to the message you conveyed. Do you understand that difference?
