Anxious for Michigan

Perkins did this to Nebraska last Friday and immediately I thought of people saying "how does that Iowa guy averaging 6 ppg go for 20 against us!" Finally it happened the other way...
Too bad it was against Nebraska. I'd love for JT or Perk to go off on Illinois and/or Michigan.

Huge game. We can get a tighter grip on 4 seed or fall to 8 seed. Pretty big swing up for grabs in next 5 days.

Michigan has 12 losses for a reason, and they've lost 4 at home.
They played out of their minds most of the game against us to pull off that win.
I doubt they will have that kind of game again, and I doubt Iowa will be equally as lackluster.
I don't picture them being the kind of team that can beat Iowa twice.
If Iowa has any intentions of making noise this postseason, these are the types of games you need to win.
I'm very confident in Iowa coming out of Crisler with a W.

Im looking forward to seeing what adjustments are made from the first meeting.

Specifically how will they defend Dickinson.

Last time the soft double did not work well. Dickinson picked it apart. Diabate was the beneficiary.

That strategy might work better against Koffi but Dickinson has become too good a passer.

Iowa can win this game if they can just not get killed in that matchup.

This may be the time for some big O.

Let Dickinson get his and shut down everything else.

Ogundele's time

This is one of those games where having a healthy Nunge would make a world of difference. We sorely need someone with his size and physicality to neutralize their front court. Rebraca and Mulvey aren't big and physical enough and Josh O still doesn't appear to be ready to be "the guy" at C. I'm afraid M is going to get more than its share of offensive rebounds and second-chance points because they are bigger and more physical. Dickinson is probably the second-best big man in the B1G after Kofi C, though Diabate looks like he can be pushed around some due to his lack of bulk and inexperience.

Hopefully PMac is ready to rock and roll with a few days of rest. Michigan plays Sparty tonight and Iowa on Thursday, so hopefully they'll be nice and tired by the time Iowa visits Ann Arbor. I think Iowa is going to need to hit some threes to win this one - hopefully Connor still has the hot hand and can nail at least 3 or 4 of them, and hopefully JBo can contribute a few himself. And of course, stay out of foul trouble early on and hit those FT's. Rinse and repeat.

Nunge hasn't played for Iowa all season

This is where we need to make the trade for Jack Nunge's services.

Xavier is tanking down the stretch and they need to clear cap space. Might as well send them a couple players and a scholarship for Jack, as Iowa is in win-now mode.

Hate to say it but I don't feel very optimistic about winning either of these last 2 games. Not because I'm down on our team, but Michigan and Illinois on the road.. Both of those teams are playing pretty well, we lost to them both in Carver and we are playing them on their senior days. Gonna be a tall task to win either, IMO.

Possible, yes, but I don't expect it. I'd be pretty thrilled with a split, much less winning both.

Prove me wrong Hawks!

I'm not sure those kinds of transactions are allowed during the lock-out. Would have to get Nunge to sign a minor league contract, which would be difficult since he is eligible for arbitration this off-season.

Michigan plays so much better at home and they are playing for their NCAA Tournament lives.

Will we have an answer for Dickinson & Diabete tomorrow night?

Dickinson dominated last night vs Michigan State.

Interested to see: 1. How many of the 6 seniors will this be their last game in Ann Arbor, always an emotional event. 2. Will the 6 or 7 players that played in an emotional game against a hated rival (Sparty) just 2 days before be fully recovered to face an Iowa team bent on revenge. 3. Connor and Tony, can they continue to add offensive, Connor added a big "0" in their first meeting. 4. Limit the double downs on Dickinson and don't let Diabate have another career night, and 5. who will be the 3 in charge of making the calls on the court and will it be called tightly or will it be a basketball game that broke out into a physical hockey game. I think the Hawks can do this....

He was in the first half against um the last time and neither of those things were true.

Him playing one on one against Dickinson is better than what Iowa did last time out.
There was nothing wrong with Frans plan. If they shot even decently, then it's a w....

Nice cheap shot at a kid who shows up to practice every day to get better. JO can be serviceable for 3-4 minute stretches.
Seriously? Grow a pair and dont be so sensitive. Is that really a crazy assumption when Fran never played him more than 4mins any game last month? C'mon now!

The guy appears to be in worse shape than he was last summer before the season even started. I can see why someone would question his level of commitment.

Really good adjustments off first meeting.

They stilled doubled tonight but much less telegraphed and it didn't always come which kept HD unsure of what to do.

Last game double came on the entry pass and he was dribbling back out to the corner and dragging two defenders with him leaving 3 guys to cover the rest of the court. Thats something you see in the nba often but not college.

Knowing he wants to pass, this time Iowa purposely waited until he got further in the paint to double which makes the court smaller and makes it harder to back out. That was really smart.

They wanted him to shoot against the double or make interior passes and that's what they got.

Iowa was also waiting for the cross court pass when it did happen and had multiple steals and deflections.

Thats probably the best defense Iowa played all year.
