I booked a room in Rancho Cucamonga. It's a 45 minute drive to Pasadena. Hotels are pricey and many are already booked. Now I need game tickets. I signed up on a waiting list with the U of I for (2) tickets. Hopefully I'll be able to get them.

Something I read said you will need at least 150 to even have a remote shot of getting tix.I'm wondering how many points you'll need to get your tickets. I've been a donating season ticket holder since graduating. But I'm not confident at all in my point total...

150 points was the cut off for BCS game, if we'd beat MSU, I believe. Per an email from the U a week ago.22000 tickets is the allotment. I'd like to think the priority level will be a lot lower than 150 before they get all those sold. Indy was 104 point cutoff and that was 11000 tickets.
Correct, but that was for an allocation of 13000 tickets. Rose Bowl is 22000 ticket allotment for UI150 points was the cut off for BCS game, if we'd beat MSU, I believe. Per an email from the U a week ago.

Not true. I got tickets and my priority points are not that high. Season ticket holder since 02.
Curious what was your point total for being a season ticket holder since 2002? Ive got a buddy who wants to go I think he is getting some bad info. He has been a season ticket holder for about the same as you and is trying to get Rose tickets.
If I remember correctly, its not very high. Maybe 3 points a year. Maybe 39? But I have also purchased quite a few road tickets, so I am not sure if I get credit for those. Don't quote me on that yet, but I will call and ask what my point count is.
Thanks trying to help some friends out who are out of the country right now. Trying to work with the Stanford office as well
Wow, only 24 points. 2 a year I guess.
Sweet thanks I believe my friend has that.
Someone just said that Jon Miller tweeted a minimum of 150 points to get tickets. I don't think that is right. We only have what....45K season ticket holder. Plus the I Club members, who generally double as season ticket holders. My math might be off, but something doesn't seem right. 45K and 22 allotment, so half of our season ticket holders are going to the Rose Bowl? And they all have over 150 priority points? Well, maybe I guess.
We had closer to 35k season ticket holders this year. But I went to the ticket office because my priority points are off, and asked the guy what he thought the cutoff would be. He said he's thinking somewhere around 150. I think that's a complete guess. It makes no sense to me at all
Someone just pointed out on another board that they are letting I Club members and people with high priority points to buy up to 8 tickets. That is where it clears up the math.
I wish they would just allow STH to request as many tickets as they have for the season. If you have 10 tickets, request up to 10. If you have 2 tickets, request 2. I know that a couple people that have 2 STs requested 4 and got them. They sold the extra 2 for a grand on Stubhub, were telling people it paid for the trip to Indy. That really sucks for the fan that has been a STH for 12 years and can't afford to donate, yet goes to every home game. Obviously that will never change because donations are what make a football program run.Someone just pointed out on another board that they are letting I Club members and people with high priority points to buy up to 8 tickets. Up to 8 tickets is a bit high in my mind. Fortune favors the rich however and the poor get priced out. Luckily I bought mine before they announced. Some dedicated friends of mine however might miss out.

just as high New years travelFlights to lax will be expensive. You could try flying to Vegas or Phoenix and traveling from there.
Over $650 on Stubhub right now. Then add in 18% service fee and 7% tax, you're at about $800 a ticket. It's a rich mans game when it cost around 4k for a couple to attend. I think tickets will drop considering the Rose Bowl seats over 100k and Stanford has been there 3 times in 4 years, I hope anyways. Right now the average Joe is priced out of going. You make a lot of good points. For your average fan, it really bites. And if I had to guess, overall, I would say we aren't the richest fanbase in the world. We aren't poor, but Iowa isn't necessarily booming either. Now your average joe, or Hawkeye fans that live out of state are going to get racked over the coals on the ticket prices. I was reading they are going for $500 a ticket on the secondary market. That hurts our fanbase.

Let me know. Also, I know someone with I believe over 150 points that isn't going for sure. I may be able to get my hands on some if anyone is interested. I will know by tonight.
I understand the sponsors get some tickets and things like that, but if you gave each university 35k it would be a big help. That still leaves 30k tickets to spread around elswhere, they do that with about 60k now. Seems way to high. I wanna see the fans that are in Kinnick every Saturday cheering on their beloved Hawkeyes rewarded along with the ones that write big checks. There are a lot of loyal fans out there that deserve to be in that stadium cheering on the Hawks January 1, that won't be able to. I feel bad for those fans.I honestly do not understand why the schools are not in control of all the tickets in the stadium. I hope stubhub burns in hell. I will never use those price gauging pieces of trash every again. They are chiselers. What do the Rose Bowl care if the schools just divide it 50/50 and then let the schools worry about the tickets? Now, granted it wouldn't work for every bowl game, but the Rose Bowl is always going to be a sell out.
Thanks, you can send me a PM when you find out. If not, I'll keep an eye on the secondary market.I will. Face value if I can get them.
