Any news on Jok or Uthoff?

I've been wondering the same thing. I knew the Rockets waived Jarrod, but I aint heard a dang thing concerning Pete since he scored 22 in the last Summer League game.

Aren't the two way players (16th and 17th) on an NBA squad the only G league players that have an opportunity to have much of an increase? I wonder how many teams have filled those roster spots.

This article explains it better than I can. Essentially many dleague spots will pay the same but there's the two way contracts and then the affiliate spots that all pay better than in the past. Lots of spots to be filled by guys who otherwise may have headed overseas

Good point, i would prefer they stay here as there is a quicker path to get a shot in the NBA. But not sure Jok's game is rounded enough. Uthoff was really on an upswing with the Mavs, was extremely disappointed when they traded him to Houston.

It seemed that Jarrod was appreciated by the Mavs. It didn't take the Rockets long to snub him.

Cuban the Mavs owner was on Dan Patrick some time ago saying they were 'tanking' last year by playing young guys. He was not saying the young guys were not trying but JU might have been part of the tanking effort by inexperience. It was still a great chance for him to showcase what he could do.

I still think that Uthoff has a better shot at sticking on an NBA roster than Jok, but at this point, they both need to find a place to play regularly, make some money, polish their skills, and work on their weaknesses. White and Gesell have had a chance to make good money, play in a nice environment, and work on their games. Seems like a pretty nice life for a few years...

Uthoff has a significantly better chance than PJ, although still not a great one.

If I was a young guy just a year or two out of college, going over seas would seem like a fun adventure although at some point I'm sure I would want to come back to the USA. I think Jarrod could play in the NBA. Pete, probably not.
I'm of the same mind. Young, especially if unattached, is a great time to experience another lifestyle. Making money to play ball in Europe or Australia would be great. Some places in Asia would be interesting too.

Not very likely that any college graduate who goes overseas to play will ever make it in the NBA. The reason most college grads don't even get drafted is because the NBA doesn't want older players and if players return from overseas in even one year they sure aren't any younger. Several foreign players are drafted every year but they are mostly the best of the foreign countries.
