Any updates on ticket sales?

Des Moines register reported in today's paper that there are around 800 singlesto Minnesota left. Also 8,700 left for Maryland (6,000 sold since the northwestern game). Not sure about the final game

I'm sure there are well over 10,000 available for Purdue, maybe 15,000. Perhaps if the team is undefeated, and we have some unseasonably nice weather, enough fans will trickle in and we'll have a crowd more like Pitt and less like N. Texas.

I'd love to go to every game, I've said this before though. When you live 4-5 hours away, ticket costs, plus a night of lodging, plus food, etc... You are looking at $500 or so for a weekend when it's all added up. Not to mention get to IC on Friday, leave/eat after the game Saturday, get back around 12am or after on Sat Night/Sun Morn. It takes a toll. I've done it multiple times in years past, as of recently no. I went to Ball State & Nebraska last year. This year we are only going to Nebraska as it's in my area.

If Iowa is unbeaten going into Purdue, there wont be an empty seat. An Iowa win would clinch the West

It's too easy for people to turn on the tv, save the money and still have 1/2 of their Saturday for other activities. It's a result of the culture and the economy.
Agreed.

One thing many don't take into consideration is that (obviously) Kinnick is located in eastern Iowa and in the past, central and western Iowa account for a good chunk of what fills up the stadium.

When a large number of folks decided not to renew their tickets or not to plan to come for games this season, it's fairly difficult for many of them to change their plans to now come.

Personally, I think that is one of the reasons. It's not easy (or cheap) to make plans for a 2 or even 3 or 4 hour trek for a game. People already made other plans and commitments and it's tough (and expensive) to change them. Particularly with the ease of watching on TV or internet.

I was waiting until the game time was set. With it being Halloween and having 2 kids, yea, 2:30 is not possible. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Can you quantify 'a good chunk' or 'a large number'? Or is this just bs?

Instead of getting mad at the other fans, ask yourself why the attendance is down. It's not the fans' fault that there wasn't any enthusiasm heading into the season. The team has outperformed anyone's expectations, but that still doesn't erase the memories of the mediocrity and general malaise of the past few years.

If Randy hadn't embarrassed us so bad, more MD fans would be there Saturday. We'll give you our best shot!

Good luck tommorow!

Think the it's easier to stay home and watch on TV is overblown. Many of those people who hold tight to this excuse probably never have thought of getting ST be it 2002,2009,2015 or even 2012. Remember many does not mean all.

Truly think we are seeing a repeat of 2002 numbers. People make plans with their entertainment budget and decided to spend it elsewhere. Keep on winning and many of those budgets will include Iowa ST's in 2016.
