Anybody doing the alumni tailgate for $125?

This has been proposed for our group. I'm indifferent to maybe slightly against it, but curious if anybody else is doing it or has heard things about the event?

You can get a $25 discount if you are a UIAA member. So then it's $100. It goes from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and includes a buffet with hot entrees, sides, and dessert, as well as unlimited beer, wine, and bloody mary bar.

I guess there is a price for "convenience" but my initial thought was we were allotted a parking pass, so why not just spend half that per person and have our own parking lot tailgate? Hell, we'll probably want to get to the stadium around 8:00 AM anyway. The issue is you need to find a place to buy all of the supplies the night before, so maybe the $125 / $100 is worth it after all?

Look, I won't be there, so this post is pretty much out of my a$$.

That does not sound like a value based on other Iowa events I have been to. Standing in line for a beer or for food, having them run out of stuff. For that amount of money you should get a 7 course meal.

But, if lazy and have lots of money, probably an easy way to go.

we're kicking it around too. there was an msu guy on here that went to theirs last year and said it was run very nicely, worth the $. my only problem is, i kind of like putting my own little party on.

Those alumni tailgates are usually pretty lame....It's 100 bucks for hamburgers and hot dogs and maybe some chicken that is lukewarm. Sides are fires and baked beans and the desert are plates of cookies. Yes there is free beer and wine but it's bud and bud light and wine is also cheap crap. Plus you're look really out of place if your just sitting there chugging em.

The ones that usually only go to these event have it build in to an already ticket package or people who get in free from the university.
