If this has been posted, or something along the lines... apologies. I had a conversation on this recently. But I find the Big 18 could be a pod based like NFL... it is so big it could be organized in such a way..
Example:
4 divisions...
West: UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington, Nebraska
East: PSU, Rutgers, MD, OSU, MSU
Midwest: Iowa, MN, Wisconsin, Illinois
Great Lakes: Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, NW

Over a season, you play all division opponents and the 4 team divisions play 2 teams each from the 5 team divisions and 1 other team from the other 4 team division. Schedule example if Iowa:
FCS
Iowa St.
Power 5 opponent
MN
OSU
Washington
MSU
Illinois
Wisconsin
NW
Michigan
Nebraska

Winners of each divisions go to a mini playoff where top 2 division host and winners play in championship... not sure if this is seeded or highest cfp rank? Or 4 team divisions play the 5 team somehow?

I get it's like the old East and West but at least makes 4 instead of 2 and there is not auto berth. Also keeps things geographic in a sense.

The Big 18 will need some organizing I think... or else why does the NFL bother doing it in their respective conferences?
Again , I am sure something like this has been posted and I know there is some elements I am missing but think this would be intriguing.
