Anybody else drive a hoopty while the wife drives in style?

I LOL at this, b/c I don't know shite about cars, but my BIL does. I got a 2008 Avalon for sale and he is eagerly wanting to sell it for me. Great car, just don't need 3 cars. Make your best offers HROT. Only 138,000 miles for being 13 years old.
I will stop banging your wife. But your mom will have to continue getting banged by me and the rest of HROT. So when do I pick it up?

You can call BS all you want, but I paid $42,600 on my Ram Eco diesel in June. It's got 5,500 miles on it now, Nada has a retail of $66,000 on it. $68,000 certified.
My wife's 2017 Cherokee has a $24.000 retail right now, $1,000 less than what we bought it new for in 2018.
We bought a 2013 Acura TL with 32K miles from Carvana in 2017 for $17.5K. If you go to Carvana today, you can find the same 2013 Acura TL for about $17K.

Those are great cars. My aunt & uncle have a 2008 Avalon with 199k miles on it and their son-in-law just bought it from them as his commuter car. Absolute tank.

I bought my wife an ‘18 Honda Accord three years ago. Perfect car for her to run errands with and such. If the weather’s bad, she can use her Jeep but she loves the Honda. It’ll be our son’s car in a couple years.

2014 Suburban and a 2016 Altima. We normally drive a ridiculous amount of miles, pre-covid. Both vehIcles well over 100k. Over a year now working from home has been nice.

I always drive a sedan; I buy it new then keep it for about eight years. Wife always drives a new SUV until, I don’t know, she gets a new purse the clashes with the interior.

Never have owned a new vehicle. Never will. It is the worst investment any person can make. Value drops immediately. Used cars have lower insurance, lower registration costs.
Well a new car isn’t an investment first off. Do you think of your TV as an investment? Your wardrobe? Your computer?

I only buy new. I don’t want left over McD fries or any other dirt from any of you losers. I’ll pay the extra. No problem. What are you all, poors?

No....it is for people that don't spend money recklessly
I consider driving and owning a nice vehicle one of life’s pleasures. Perhaps you consider it simply a means of transport. I do not.

Oh and I don’t own an old man sedan. Let’s leave it at that. What self respecting man drives a 4 door ground level car anyway?

I believe you. I’ve mentioned before on here that I got an unbelievable deal on a luxury SUV right at the start of the covid panic. I’m not $23K up, but the NADA at this point used is still $14K above what I paid for it. Car dealers went absolutely nuts for about 30 days around March last year.

I made the deal with Southtown over the phone, put a deposit on it and waited a week to go get it, 7 hour drive. They had so much interest in the truck they had to move it out back, they were already regretting the deal when I got there. That was the first business I was in where everyone wore a mask.

Life is too short to drive cheap cars.

I like being comfortable and having lots of power and style.
You drive a Prius huh?!! JK.

Sounds like more of a Minivan description with a V6. Good selection. LoL.

97' ES 300 for me 04' Sienna for wife. We buy used (100,000 miles) and run into the ground. She'll have a 15' or newer soon kids will drive 97' and i'll drive 04'. You don't build wealth by buying new cars.

Ha! I can top that. I have a 13 year old Grand Cherokee with 105,100 miles on it. NOT for sale.

So everyone can see the offer and agreement. Trad has offered and I have accepted 350,000 for my 2008 Avalon.

I get rid of my vehicles around 100,000 miles so I should have plenty of takers here but not sure any of you want to buy my used and well maintained Escalades, Tahoe’s, Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon’s, or my newest purchase, Land Rover Sport Dynamic V8. Only buy SUV’s or a pick up.

That feels great right? Now imagine all that combined with the satisfaction of knowing you made the money to pay for it, not your wife. Sheer bliss I tell ya.

No vehicle since 2015.ish, no wife since... well ever, no kids so there goes that. Uber, Lyft and my own two feet are working just fine, with the odd instacart delivery mixed in. In an emergency my little brother helps out.
