Did we just start a thing last night? I know this is common at concerts, but I've never seen it at a sports event... has anyone else?
It was awesome. Hope we have more night games and ditch sweet Caroline for this after 3rd quarter.Yes fans started this when they started playing Biggie's "Hypnotize" on a tv timeout. This was not planned by the U at all.
I could twitter and text just fine.Since phones aren't good for anything else at an Iowa game, you might as well use it for this.
They showed it on TV and it looked cool, but after watching the video posted here I'm really surprised that they played that song. Yeah it's almost 20 years old, but it has some pretty adult lyrics. It cut out right before "your daughter's tied up in a Brooklyn basement." I'm also pretty sure that I heard an uncensored T & A.
Wouldn't be shocked to hear about a bunch of complaints from people that had kids at the game with them. I've had that album since '97 and I'm not sure that I'm comfortable with them playing it at college sporting events.
It certainly didn't seem like anyone was uncomfortable with it.They showed it on TV and it looked cool, but after watching the video posted here I'm really surprised that they played that song. I wondered the same thing. I've never seen it either. Plus the blackout set it off big time.Did we just start a thing last night? I know this is common at concerts, but I've never seen it at a sports event... has anyone else?
You need this type of environment though to pull it off. Blacked out crowd, night game obviously, and a signature song. I agree, we should make this a thing, but it will be rare for it to happen. The black out really helped to make it stand out.Very Cool and it should be something we do all the time now. Its Ours and we should own it. You will see other fan base copy this now. Would be awesome to have everyone do that at the same time. Like the end of the 3rd Quarter when everyone is holding their 4 fingers up. Loved it!
Multiple recruits mentioned how much this stood out to them as one of the highlights of the game day atmosphere at Kinnick on Saturday night. Here is a pretty good one.
I hate Rap with a passion (I'm assuming it was some Rap tune - I know it wasn't The Stones....), and had no idea whose song it was, but even for an old "fuddy-duddy" type like me, I thought it was extremely cool.It was really cool to see in person. Pics don't do it justice. Fun to watch it grow and spread.
It certainly didn't seem like anyone was uncomfortable with it.
HahahahahahahajhahahahahahahahaComing from this guy... I was standing right next to Hawktimus and he's an asshole.
