Anyone else have police that gave out trading cards when you were a kid?

When I was a kid in my small North Texas suburb, the police would drive around and if they saw you out playing, they could stop and give you Dallas Cowboys trading cards.

Looking back, that seems like a really good way to foster a positive relationship between the police and the community's youth. I referenced in the skip day thread, but we knew all the cops, and they knew all of us - and that was a good thing: it let them differentiate between kids out being kids and kids doing bad stuff, because they knew us. I think maybe police should try doing more things like that - give kids a positive impression of police when they're younger, and vice versa, and that probably helps as everyone gets older.

I know a lot of you are from different towns in IA and FL. Did any of you have something similar, or was this unique to us at that time?
