Anyone else see the IA FB spring highlight video? Impressive

Not sure whether to be pumped about the CBs (for snagging numerous interceptions) or wonder about CJ meshing with the new receivers. Nice vid though.

Most were to King, a couple to Jackson. I'd rather those interceptions be happening now, so CJ can learn from his mistakes and not make them in games.

Also, Jay Scheel made me significantly more optimistic regarding the WR outlook in that video alone. I think Vandeberg, he, McCarron, and Jerminic should be just fine.

Oh, and despite the fantastic talent we have coming in at RB, I still think Eric Graham will be a player for the Hawks the next couple of years.

That video gets me pumped. Some of Scheel's catches(I think it was Scheel, #3) were ridiculous. We need all the help we can get when it comes to receivers.

King is looking as sharp as ever.

Hoping CJ can get all the kinks out before the season starts.

Be pumped about the CBs. Defense is nearly always ahead of offense at that point in the cycle. Remember last year when many were freaking out over the O-line's inability to block Ott and Meyer? They did pretty well later that fall, in terms of pass and run blocking.

FYI: Two of the INTs shown were CJ's, the rest were others. Since CJ didn't participate in the spring game due to his shoulder injury, his INTs occured earlier in spring ball. He's continued to work hard with his receiver corp since recovering from injury; they'll be fine for fall, IMO.

It is Scheel. He seems to have great hands and can get behind the defense. It is what I saw at the spring game. I like our receivers.

Additionally, the defense knows our offense better than any other defense. They know the playbook, WR and QB tendencies, audibles, etc. In these scrimmages, there's likely little doubt as to which play is being run which should allow the defense to jump routes that ordinarily would not be jumped.

CJB went all of last season throwing just 5 interceptions. I hardly find any reason to worry that he will turn into a turnover machine in his senior season.

What number is Graham? Kid from Alabama? Personally, I think the Bama staff nudged Iowa toward him.

Their video staff has really been awesome last year or 2. Watching this got me thinking usually after a good season their is a season highlight video you can buy. I have DVD from 02', 03', 04' & 09'. Been waiting to buy blue ray/dvd from this past season but can't find one anywhere. Surprised nothing out yet.

Why do you think it was the Bama staff and not the Auburn staff ? Do you think Bama feels guilty about taking Ross P away from the Hawks ?

I have no idea if that is true, but Saban and Ferentz have a relationship. I am unaware of any connection with Auburn.

As stated by others, Kirk and Nick have a good relationship. Joining in on a "camp" together, as well as some other schools.

Have we ever recruited Alabama? If you remember, Graham was a fall back recruit that just popped up on the radar at the last minute. Someone notified the Iowa staff about this kid from a small town in Alabama that didn't even have a recruiting profile (I think). Unless I'm way over exaggerating this, I believe someone on Saban's staff contacted the Iowa staff.

If the rumors of Graham being gone are true hopefully Kirk and the Iowa staff will send Nick a thank you card.
