Anyone ever travel/live in a van or off-road RV?

That makes sense, I never had much of a problem sleeping on the ground, being drunk and all... My last night in a tent was a rained out Buffett concert a few years ago in Wisconsin, woke up naked partially submerged in standing water. I didn't realize rain flys go bad after 10+ years.
Sounds like a typical weekend for @millah_22

He'd sure as hell try to though

I've never done it and wouldn't want to do it for an extended period of time but I'd give an off-road RV a try for a trip. With that said, the thought has crossed my mind to buy one of these for my truck. The wife no pics and I both love camping and road trips and have discussed taking a trip out west to hike and sightsee.

I doubt we ever do it, at least this way. But the idea has been discussed quite a few times because I was incredibly close to buying one back before I met her when I was single.
you look like you just ****ing love to tailgate people with your high beams on.

Dude, I would love something like this. Awesome!

We camped every weekend during summers when I was a kid either at White Oaks or Emerson Bay up at Okoboji. Since college, I have maybe camped five times. I would love the super low maintenance aspect of this along with being able to pick up and go anywhere any time.

CSB time, Back in like 2000 my uncle (not blood related but still family, it's complicated) was bringing my grandparents boat in, and saw a boat stranded out in Emerson Bay. He went and towed them in, and hit it off with one of the women on the boat. They ended up getting married and named their first daughter Emerson.

This is outstanding!

I took the wife (no pic) up for a day trip to just run around Okoboji about 12-13 years ago. We stopped at Emerson Bay and just hung out at a picnic table by the beach. We proceeded to watch some ole girl back right down the boat ramp, trailer, truck and all right into the water. She just sat in the truck, window halfway down floating around. We finally got them towed out, but needless to say, the truck was fooked. I am guessing she had to pay up extra sexy time that night.

Just read that they re-introduced paddlefish to the Iowa Great Lakes today and used Emerson Bay as the release point/csb

The closest for us is that we are currently living in our camper while we are building our house. It isn't the worst thing ever but I could never do it full full time. Being in Colorado now we see so many of those remote spots that I would have never guessed existed. Our area isn't super touristy so those spots sit empty most of the time and I think if I were willing to boondock they would be cool. Some would be difficult for even a van or truck to access which I am guessing makes them a little safer from people looking to break in. Cars would be an absolute no. Jeeps would be the best option.

Working at Winnebago for a few years, we got a chance for a RV for a week every year. Luckily, I was able to use one on 3 different occasions. Didn't ever travel far, and my wife would often drive the car behind us as it wasn't convenient, in my opinion, to get around it.
While fishing at our spot on the North Platte River in Wyoming, there were several old campers, and what looked like yard sheds on a hill southwest of us. Evidently people were living off the grid there.

Have a guy where I work that lives in his van. Parks it in the parking lot. Has a membership at the gym and access to shower there. Uses free internet has a diesel heater for the winter months. Been living like this for 2 years now.

What locations?

I've cat camped enough in remote places and never had an issue.

Working on building out a fiberglass truck camper for this very type of adventure.

I don't know specific locations other than both break ins happened in Nevada. One happened in town while he was getting groceries and the other happened out in the sticks. He hates Nevada.
