Anyone notice what Purdue is doing to Rutgers?

Rutgers athletics runs a $36 million deficit every year! They've been running deficits for 20 odd years. They are counting on getting a $40 million share from TV in 2021... but they still have the worst facilities and they spend $30 million less than the average B1G program... Each student subsidizes this tire fire $330 per year!

Check out this press conference by Coach Eddie Jordan after their 50 point loss... Tell me, is this worth $1mm per year?

I thought the coach handled it well. What is he supposed to say after a 50 point loss where he fielded a team with 6 scholarship guys with no height against a mammoth front line that Purdue has? They have lost 3 guys for the year and a fourth guy is out with a knee injury.

Look you can make fun all you want but 7 years ago we were getting blown by 40-50 at Minny under Lick to give you some perspective. I find no reason to pile on others and am thankful Fran came to turn us around.

Yeah we've been in their shoes so no need to pile on. Seems like it should be a better program than it is considering its location.

According to the RU board, it's a blackout game on Thursday. Lol they're doing their best Iowa marketing department impression!

Then I fully expect them to hand out gold pom poms to the 1000 in attendance

How are they so bad? I just do not understand it? Eddie Jordan should probably be fired, but wh would want that job??

They're paying their head coach at least a million bucks a year, it's the best basketball league in the country, and they are theoretically close to some major recruiting hotbeds from which to draw talent. It's at least as good as either the Penn State or Northwestern jobs.

I had no idea until just yesterday that Eddie Jordan had been an NBA head coach for 3 different franchises, with like 4 playoff appearances in there. That is just insanity.

This might be one of the worst power five teams historically. They are awful. The only recent teams I can think of in the BIG would be that Indiana team when Crean first took over.

Worse. TL's worst team was better than Rutgers is right now. RU is currently 280 on Kenpom, the worst TL team finished 178.

My only desire for this game is that no one gets hurt playing the second worse team they'll face this year.
