I doubt a 10-3/ 10-2 iowa would be ranked in the top 12. Probably our only chance at NY6 is to win the BTC- and then it likely doesnāt matter what the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the east do.
Iowa has most years since 2015.
10-2 and Wisconsin getting demolished by OSU is probably our best scenario for a bowl game.

The odds of this happening are probably 5% but if Michigan drops below us as well then we could go to the Rose Bowl at 10-2. We arenāt that far out of the top 12 now so I donāt think itās super far fetched for us to end up there. It would help if we won with some style points, which is probably pretty unlikely.

Thatās pretty impressive, honestly. Which makes the fact Iowa hasnāt won the West since 2015 all the more head scratching. I know some fans wonāt like this, but that winning percentage has a lot to do with beating inferior non-conference opponents and Iowa State. In fact, when is the last time Iowa lost a non-conference game outside of a bowl game? Iowa State 2014?
I grew up in Dubuque. The small town Wisconsiners crossed the bridge to work. Lots of them. I have no problem rooting against them ever.
Wisconsin is the Iowa of the 2000s. They start slow out of the gate then begin to gel come October.

Same for me. That and I have been to Wisconsin many times. There is no Wisconsin State - it's all Bucky Badger up there.

And Iowa is 8-2 AND ranked #18. And they are playing with arguably the worst, most inexperienced offensive line (except for center and one guard spot) in recent history.

Really? Or was it a great rebuilding year? I get that it is frustrating not to have all elements of the team lined up perfectly at the same time (special teams, defense, offense) but it isnāt that easy.
The difference between how this season has unfolded between these 2 teams was in the early schedule and offensive improvement. They faced 3 very good defenses with an offense that was struggling with a bad QB behind an offensive line that had yet to gel. Since then the offensive line has become completely dominant running the ball, like all Badger lines seem to do, and Mertz has become a game manager. Iowa's offense OTH has continued to struggle.
