Well, that's just dumb. She's not doing her job. She should be fired. The only thing they can do is lay contempt charges on her. That's it. They can't remove her from office.

I think the opposite, jailing her raises her to martyr status.
Unfortunately, you can't simply fire an elected official. There has to be an official inquiry into her actions to determine if she is not fulfilling her duties as defined within her oath of office. I could be wrong, but I think it would be this course that impeachment proceedings would take place and if found guilty by the Kentucky legislature of violating her duties then she could be removed from office.Well, that's just dumb. I agree with you on both parts. I don't see why that is an elected position. Can't just fire elected officials. . . Otherwise people would just be getting rid of duely elected officials for being a pain in the rear.
Personally I think a functionary like the county clerk aught to just be an appointed job or something like that. Usually we elect people to make decisions on our behalf, but this job and some other jobs seem to be mostly about managing an office.

So I guess she needs to be impeached?
Impeached, and then it goes to the state legislature to determine if she's guilty or not-guilty.I agree with you on both parts. I don't see why that is an elected position.

That's my understanding as well (I alluded to that in a previous post). She could be formally charged with some misdemeanor of sorts (not executing her duties or something like that). Then that could be what's needed to bring about impeachment proceedings. If it went that far, the legislature would still have to rule on her guilt or innocence though, which may not be a slam dunk given the nature of the case.Apparently from the articles I'm read as I'm no expert on Kentucky state law the state legislature can do it, but they arn't in secession.

This saga has nothing to do with her pious religious beliefs; it's all about the gravy train of donations from gullible Christian conservatives who will open their checkbooks & rally to support her.
I really don't see how you can claim that, at least without going full-on blowhard. She is putting her elected position at risk, and is standing up to the federal courts...you think this is to raise money? To get the limelight? She is a measly clerk in a Tenn. county, I doubt that was that much on her mind. Sure, now that she is famous maybe it has an effect, but I think it very disrespectful and disingenuous to somehow claim she is doing it for nefarious reasons.

You need to STFU. I used to think you were intelligent with a psychiatric condition. Now you're just acting stupid with a psychiatric condition. We know gods punishment time to find out what mankind will do to her. I'd take the lame activist court punishment over what god will do
we have proof of what god will do with history and biblical prophecy, or at least, what she fears god will do. now we need to see what the courts will do. btw, clyde lewis on ground zero covered you and/or people like you last night on his show: a bunch of trolls on the net trying to discredit people. he said you are paid by the government. is that true? You need to STFU. So, which is it: are you stupid, psychiatric, both?
no, it's all about the gay activists going after religion. next stop: the churches. don't you imagine a preacher or pastor shall be fined next for not doing a gay ceremony, if she is fined? who is grabbing money here, in fines, hmmmmm? don't you imagine the tax exempt status of the churches shall be questioned? This saga has nothing to do with her pious religious beliefs; it's all about the gravy train of donations from gullible Christian conservatives who will open their checkbooks & rally to support her.

You really think she is putting her elected position at risk? She's like Marion Barry. She can do anything she wants, be removed from office, and the good people of the county will elect her again if she runs again. My bet is that she stands to make a lot of money as well from Gofundme and otherwise.
