It has killed the plans I had for this week. Just...maddening.

But yeah, winter's last gasp hopefully. This time next week should be in the 60's or warmer.

I finally buy a golf cart, use it for a week and now this cold snap. When the temps reach 45, goodbye world, I’ll be living at the course .

My kids had an outdoor track meet a few years ago, in April, where they were getting snowed on during the meet. They had an indoor meet the first weekend of April, I believe at Grinnell, where we drove home in blizzard conditions. That was the year my older son hit a cow on the way home from the meet (he had driven there from college and was coming home for the weekend)

Road bike early this morning. I thought maybe it was just a heavy fog/frost.

kind of ridiculous for the middle of April.

Lived in the Midwest my whole life, Iowa and then moved to Illinois.

Last summer we moved to San Antonio for my wife’s job and haven’t regretted it once. It doesn’t really snow here, maybe a flurry but that’s rare. We aren’t in Tornado Alley either so that’s nice. I haven’t missed snow once and I live that I can pretty much wear shorts year round.

I was suprised to wake up to snow here in Ankeny. Not as much as you got but enough to be depressing. Oh and since this is HROT and I need to say something assholey, 4 foot chain link fence brah? If you were going non-privacy I would have expected 6 wrought iron with the little spikes on top to stab any poors trying to scale it.

Damn straight. I don’t want these southern belles thinking we’re weak!
Do you even Hurricane, bro?

I think y’all are tough. One, you live in Iowa. The single most pointless state after Mississippi. Two, I’m looking at the backyard with green grass and 70’s. You enjoy your white stuff. We will enjoy our white stuff with hookers.

It has been established that on average, the weather is better in Florida from mid October through April. Iowa wins May through mid October. Just make sure the beaches are back open once it gets cold and we come to vacation and clog up your roads.

I will add that the cold weather does a good job of keeping hobos away and for the most part the ones we have are semi-industrious. They can just sleep on benches down there 365 days a year. Here if they want to survive winter they set up camps with tents and fires.

Pfffft. It’s going to be 40-50 every day this week. Snow means. I thing to me.

Our hobos are in Gainesville. I don’t have hobos near my palatial mansion.

Talked to my dad on the phone the other day and he said it snowed.

Meanwhile I went for a walk yesterday and my shoulders got pretty crispy. The last 3-4 weeks of barely going outside really took the tan away.

Just need decent weather next weekend (april 24th), moving to townhouse in Ankeny. 3 years back when I moved to my current apartment it rained all day, nothing more miserable to move in rainy weather like that.

Love me some snow. Last one of the year so I'm going to enjoy it. It'll be 70 a week from today then the great weather is back in full force.

Not all that uncommon. Iowa was hit with a huge blizzard this late in April back in '73.
Snowed in 7 days without power. We all shared the master bedroom which had a gas heater that did not require an electric blower. During the day we were in the kitchen which had a gas stove which we ran with the door open.

Buried everything from the fridge and freezer in snow banks.

It sucked.
