Archie Miller on the court

I agree. I hate the coaches coming on the floor barking orders while the game is going on. Fran gets a lot of grief (sometimes deserved) about being a lunatic. But for the most part he is on the bench and saves the ranting for dead ball times. Other coaches spend the whole game on the floor yelling at players/“working the officials”. This is more tiresome than Frans occasional antics.

Watching the IU at Minn game last week. Archie is at one end, on the court most of the game. Lil Richard is on the side standing nearly at mid court by the scorer’s table. Not a word is said to either. It wouldn’t be that bad, but Minnesota has an ungodly amount of room on their sideline. Both spent more time out of the coach’s box than in it.

I'm surprised that more players don't just run into coaches like that! A player could plow in a coach on purpose and the refs would be force to call something on the coach

I wouldn’t be so sure.

Once a coach gets trucked.... After further review, we acknowledge that the coach was on the floor. We did not see an obstruction in play. No technical foul assessed.

if we had the ball, the bastards probably call a charge on us!! :D

I do think sometimes they like to see how red Fran will get. What calls get him the most fired up.

The other team taking the ball out of the net after a made basket has to be in the top three.

Forced to make a call? Yes, you would think. However I recall that exact thing happen, a coach on the court getting plowed over by a player. Coach got up looking a little stunned and embarrassed. Gets helped up, everybody had a little laugh and don’t think a warning was even given.

Both Eustachy and Floyd were also coaches that went way out on the court. It has to be a distraction to players. What if a player just threw a fastball at them?

A coach steps out of his box T him up immediately,.. Steps out a second time T him up again and escort him to the locker room,.. Easy rule to enforce, so just enforce it...
