Are we gonna lose to Nebraska?

Seems like Kris is an All-B1G talent. Perkins is above average B1G talent. Ullis is below average
B1G player, but doesn perform a role and Bowen plays same position and looks pretty good.

If CMAC, PMAC are truly above average B1G players, this team should beat Nebraska
and finish in top half of B1G again.

Very unlikely. You have Murray and CMac coming back and over a week of the team having to stew over being mocked nationally. I expect them to come out with their hair on fire.

If they do lose to Nebraska, though, the wheels will have completely fallen off.
No, the wheels will not have completely fallen off. Nebraska took Purdue to OT and beat Creighton. They have good players.

Good point. I think it depends how the team performs tonight overall. After having to chew on that embarrassing loss for over a week, I would expect them to come out guns blazing.

If the effort is just so-so and they lose, they have a very uphill climb to even think about getting into the tournament.

You just don't seem to get it. If the Hawks lose today the season is over and Iowa may as well forfeit the rest of the games. Or something like that.

I think tonight will tell a lot about the rest of the season. This was a W on the schedule but after the EIU game it is hard to tell if this team has it in them to man up. Hopefully Fran talked to the team about shot selection and that there is a lot of court inside the 3 point arc to utilize. The 1-16 from 3 against EIU in the second (if memory serves) was bullshit basketball and lazy coaching.

One thing is for certain, some obscure guy for Nebraska will have a career high. A loss tonight and the best case scenario will be the NIT. I would put Iowa's chances of winning at 20%.

Nebby is not good.
I don't think Purdue, the undefeated and No. 1 team in the country, would agree. Did you see that game when Purdue played @ Nebby recently? Nebraska had multiple chances to win in regulation only to lose a heartbreaker in OT. Nebraska has also defeated Creighton, among others, in one of the nation's toughest schedules so far.

You may not like Nebraska. I don't either. But the facts say Nebraska is a far, far better team than, say, Eastern Illinois. LOL

No one has any idea how this game will go. Literally anything could happen, but no matter the result, Nebraska is a good basketball team and, at times, has played great against great teams. So if Iowa can find a way to win in Lincoln, it would be a huge win on the road and help ease the memory of that incredible loss to EIU.

Road wins in the B1G are never easy to come by. Nebraska has played very well at times this season. Didn't they win at Creighton? Hope to catch them on an off night, but I'm not putting this one in the W column quite yet.

Murray needs to do what he does but doesn't need to force things and try to do it all on his own. Need to get angry on the defensive end again!

We need to get Kris the ball isolated within 10 feet of the hoop.. that’s where he’s gonna help Iowa the most this year.. starting him 1 on 1 25 feet out has not done anything

The question is whether the team has lost its mojo. That a Connor-less team doesn’t have the gonads to protect its home court is disappointing. Whoever thought motivation would be a problem?

This is right on the money.....

Come on people. Has the team been lost? Played a shitty game with a depleted line up coming off an extremely challenging non-conference schedule.

Remember the loss to DePaul 4 years ago (I think). Lost at home to DePaul and lost Nunge for the season. Disaster was predicted. I think that was a 20+ win team. Maybe it was the Covid year. Anyway, panic is silly at this point. One Big Ten game under their belt, and the officials picked that winner.

We're better than we have been. Like 13th-in-the-Big-Ten-instead-of-14th better. Not Tim-Miles-is-coaching better (meaning we finish either 4th of 12th) either.

But we beat Creighton, so the season's complete if we lose all the rest. #GBR

Down 20 already, in the first half, and haven't scored in 9 game minutes.

I think the answer here is,
yeah-probably-definitely.gif
