This is the policy that outlines out how healthcare will be rationed during a pandemic. In other words who gets a vent or not. Implication is that is how hospitals are supposed to triage treatment going forward.

First state to do so. Not even New York had to do that.

Our beloved death squads are back but low and behold it's the republicans deciding who lives and who dies. it isn't by your health or age . It is by which party you are in.

How ironic that a GOP controlled state would be implementing death panels. My partner was actually on the decision making committee for Atlanta area hospitals... luckily it didn't get utilized. They only put the plans in place.

Ironic, and sad.

But, what else do you want them to do? They're running out of PPE, other supplies, and now testing supplies are again in short supply - meaning we won't even be able to track this anymore because tests will be rationed to only the really sick.

Where are all the MAGAs informing us this would "never happen here"....????

Everything is fine, bars are totally safe

In fairness, there was a data error the previous day and cases for that day were delayed in reporting by a day. Accounts for the surge in numbers.

At this point there appear to be no ICU beds available in the state. Surge plans are being implemented and personnel from other states are being brought in. Vents are plentiful

So Arizona will be the safest state in a few months. Good news for the snowbirds.

Get to see socialist healthcare first hand, and make no mistake there are plenty on the right for socialist healthcare.
“Socialist healthcare”? How so? It was the US hospital/ insurance systems that have lead Az to make this move.....due to lack of PPE and other healthcare equipment supplies...maybe you are insinuating that “socialist” medicine would have better prepared Az for this crisis? There seems to be a healthcare crisis in Az today, Iowa....and it is because of the system in place it exists...

New Covid-19 cases yesterday:

Spain: 301
UK: 689
Belgium: 66
Portugal: 229
Italy: 142
Denmark: 17
Germany: 440

Total new cases yesterday from the above 7 European countries: 1,884

Total population of the above countries: 284.52 million, or about 87% of the US population

New Covid-19 cases in the United States yesterday:

46,042, or about 24.44 times the number of new cases than the total of the above 7 European countries

Is that explainable because we are testing more than the above European countries? No. In all but two of the above European countries, the above European nations are conducting more tests per million than we are. In one of the remaining two (Italy), they are testing at about 89% of the rate that we are. However, we have 60 times the new cases per million that they have. In Germany, they are presently testing at 65% of the rate as we are, and yet we have 28 times the new cases per million that we have. The only comparable major European nation to the US is France. We are conducting about 5 times the tests per million as they are, and yet we have 8 times the number of new cases that they have.

The US leadership has failed in containing Covid-19, and the buck stops at Donald Trump. His obsessive, singular focus on his image and his ego has contributed to 130,000 US deaths, over 25% of the world's total when we only have 4.25% of the world's population, and crippling economic closures.

Anyone claiming that American leadership has done even an adequate job at controlling the disease in this country is either lying, delusional, or so immersed in partisan loyalty that they have blinded themselves to the facts.

Why do you hate America?
Why do you hate Trump?

Great area, I live right on the border of Queen Creek and Gilbert, good schools, lots of fun stuff to do especially in downtown Gilbert. Offer still stands to get a beverage somewhere when you get into town

Be happy to buy you one, Gaylord.

What do you want to know

Should we be concerned about high number of hospital admissions related to COVID?

Also, I have spent some time in Gilbert as well. Great place. OSHO has some good beers and there were some great brunch places downtown.

Yea it is getting bad, just found out one of my ER nurses I used to work with is in the ICU on a ventilator. Last I heard he was being put on ECMO, so not good. Homeland Security is sending us 500 medical personal to help out. Everyone needs to wear a mask and stay safe.

Where is the condemnation from Donald Trump? Why hasn't he called the governors who let this happen LOSERS! Why hasn't he threatened to cut off aid to the states affected by this surge?
