Army Helmet reconditioning......

I have an old Prussian pickelhaube style WW1 helmet that I'd like to have reconditioned. Where can I take this to be examined/done? I'd say it is in "fair" to "good" condition.

PS: I have the emblem that affixes to the front of the helmet, too.

I wonder if you could call a local museum and perhaps get a quote from them. Assuming that most museums have people trained in various type of restoration.

You have to be careful not to ruin the value of the item as well.


A quick google search shows that the administrator of pickellhaubes.com does this sort of thing
