Though the Biden admin did a good job achieving a soft landing they held inflation too high for too long which cost the regular guy too much month to month and they were tired of it. They don't care about a soft landing... they care about living month to month. Biden was blamed for this and Harris stated she wouldn't have done anything different putting her on the Titanic with Biden.

At the end of the day... its the economy stupid... and not the state of it, but how real people on main street feel about it.

I think it was shitloads of dark money and propaganda more than anything else.

Many of the policies that Dems have championed and passed have been rather popular - MAGAs have taken credit routinely for the Infrastructure Bill that has helped Main St with major fixes/projects.

The MAGA who was on here complaining about his property taxes will be in for a rude awakening over the coming years, as municipalities cannot rely on federal funds for any support, and those local taxes have to go up to pay for shit. This has been the process for quite a long time now, since the Reagan and then Bush tax cuts: less federal investments in local projects, so localities have to raise those funds, themselves. The more you eliminate the taxes on the wealthy to support Main St, that is the outcome.

That's what Americans voted for, here, so now they are going to get it.

It's certainly part of it. There are plenty of men out there (and more than a few women) who don't believe that a woman is fit to be president.

With that said, she was a shitty candidate who made some really dumb unforced errors that probably cost her the election. From picking goofy Walz as running mate to allowing herself to be tied as closely as possible to an unpopular president, she sealed her fate.

With that said she's never even the candidate if the Dems ran a primary. I'm still of the opinion that if the Dems ran Shapiro or Kelly they win in a landslide by running centrist candidates who weren't saddled with the border or trans issues.
