I like Painter and Purdue. Unlike ISU and other teams full of classless clowns who lose, but still claim to be better, Purdue players and coaches give an honest account in the article below. Hard not to root for them when not playing Iowa.

Last night's game was one of the best college basketball games I have seen in a long time. It wasn't a match up of two teams with one and done players or squads full of transfers with no affinity for their schools or conference. It was an old school (except for the high scoring part) Big Ten battle from start to finish. Despite all the hype, Swanigan was not crying to the refs or getting chippy because of the physical play. How many guys in his position would do the same?

Jok, Baer, Cook, Bohannon, Kriener--lots of guys stepped up last night. Last night's performance elevated Jok's NBA status significantly IMO. Total floor game and played within himself and the flow of the game last night.

I remember plenty of old-school B10 shootouts. The B10 of the 80's put up some serious points, but I agree. Very fun game!

This was one of those games where I imagine both teams have a newfound respect for each other win or lose. It was a heavyweight championship type fight, and I'm glad we came out the winner.

Purdue is and always has been my second favorite Big10 school. FB and BB their players are rarely punks and play the game right. Fans are great to hang with also.

We have played some exciting games this season. If you were an uninvolved spectator, last night's game was a great college basketball game.

I'm guessing Purdue is wondering why they stopped feeding it inside from about the 5 minute mark until Swannigan's last shot. Did we change or step up our D? For a time in the 10-5 minute range they were eating us up inside. They need to play through their two HUGE bigs every possession

Some of the shots Purdue's guards took were ill-advised to say the least. Swanigan was scoring and facilitating when he had the ball. Once 7 footer dumping it down to another was a sight to behold. Swanigan is going to make some coin in the NBA and will only get better.
