I do agree that the basis for it is also weak. He would likely have had a better basis in the fact that Trump is getting rid of the inspector's general and letting Elon Musk's crew run roughshod over entire federal departments without security clearance or even employment status with the Federal government.

Congress still has a strong say in those departments in terms of budget, how their money is spent etc.

This is just more performative politics. I get the outrage against Trump, I share it. But if impeachment didn’t work after 1/6 (and I supported that impeachment) then it is not going to work 1 month into his presidency and will backfire.

The Dems would be better served spending their time outlining a vision for the future while focusing hard on a few key Trump policies that will make America worse (again). Trump made 2024 about prices, but he will only make prices worse. Focus there as much as possible while explaining why dem policies are better for the average worker.

Levy impeachment after impeachment. Grind Congress to a halt with these demands. Rs won't like it. They will shoot them down. But the whole point is to make them play defense every week while minimizing the damage Congress can do
