No you just can't tell me you're pleased with what the HWC has been up to or TnT to let Metcalf go to the enemy.

I'm not pleased... And I wasnt pleased when Terry Brands left and Tom Brands, and Mike Zadick, and Doug Schwab,.. I could go on and on.

It's going to feel pretty weird when Brent is sitting on the other side..No doubt about that.

So what is the rules on this? Who can/can't wrestle in "the room"?
I could wrestle in the room if I wanted to. However, we are talking about the HWC members and they can wrestle there as long as they want and are members. Just stop getting their stipend when they quit competing. There is no 5-6-7 year time limit. Unless the NCAA passed a new rule that hasn't been made public.

Thank you.

But there is a limit on "coaches"? What kinds of things won't Metcalf be allowed to do that Dresser will - with wrestlers/prospects.

You've got me curious. What is your stance on, say, Ben Askren? Is he coaching at Mizzou?

He's not coaching at Mizzou, he runs a wrestling club up in Wisconsin with his brother. I do not like the guy at all but I do trust who his sources are and when he reports something I believe it.

Do you think it a travesty that he isn't coaching at Mizzou?

Good question but could you or anyone tell me, or tell the NCAA what goes on 100% of the time in any wrestling room? Who is doing what, when, with who? If the answer is no, then there is your answer.

Well that seems like a poorly thought-out plan.

Unless there was a recent change the rule is something like club guys who graduated from Iowa can attend/participate in the official college practices for something like 5 years from when they graduated. Guys who are not alums have to work out with the college guys outside of that time in separate workouts.

I read the first post, that's it. Ben is butthurt that he didn't wrestle for Iowa...probably not true.I know he's a closet fan, but I don't get some of the shit he says.

That being said, he is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I've probably watched more video of him than anyone. Wrestling was a god given gift to him. You want to have a f** and funky staff? He's my go to guy. Love that dude and I think he wants to see Iowa on top again even more than the Tigers.

Let's get Ben, he f#*cked his UFC chances by kicking people's asses with takedowns and talking shit to Dana.

I believe you can't teach funk to the highest level, it's a balance awareness thing, but he had more than that. He's a master of balance and leverage. I know that's wrestling, but he was special. I don't care what he did in the national or world level. He's a genius.

Don't talk smack about one of the greatest wrestlers you will see in your lifetime especially when he's been pointing out our problems for years.

No, that's my point. Askren may have a list of "accomplishments" but nevertheless he is a classless idiot. Running your mouth is not a skill you would list on a resume.
Running one's mouth when one is paid to talk is most definitely resume worthy.

Just saying.

How is it that the number 2 team in the state can raise money like that in a heartbeat and we have had 10+ years and can't do it? We didn't need 215k to do it, we just needed to do right by him in the situation and not ask him to be here for essentially free.
AD/University backing vs some knuckleheads on message boards.
