At what moment did you realize..

When VandeBerg recovered the bouncing Krieger-Coble fumble for a TD against Iowa State. Those plays never seem to go our way, 100% of the time. That told me something was awry in the universe, and maybe things would be different this time. So far, so good.

this reminds me of something that I meant to ask earlier in the year and forgot to.....I think VandeBerg came from running out of bounds to grab that fumble, I am assuming the whole "cannot go out out bounds and be the first one to touch the ball after coming back in" is only on forward passes?

sorry to get off track, but if someone knows that for sure let me know.

Go Hawks!!

I remember that coming up at the time, and I believe he was forced out and then re-established himself prior to touching the ball. Either way, suck it Clones!!!

August: Big 10 Media days. Lomax & Ott said a successful season would be if we won every game. There was something in the way they said it that indicated something was up.
i saw this too and thought it was lip service at the time. Remember thinking how much more poised the Ohio State guys looked in their interview. I was wrong! Unbelievable season. Keep rolling

It didn't sound like lip service to me. Don't know why. I could tell Jordan meant it.

This only applies to receiving the ball, not recovering fumbles.

This season could be special. Not that we would be 12-0, but that it could be a good season? For me, I think having Brett Greenwood as honorary captain, then Koehn kick the winning field goal. Something special that night.
Once we passed the 9-0 mark.

When we beat WI. I actually made the comment we got a long way to go but this could be a special year.

I know people will not believe me, but the very first game of the year, i sensed something different about how tis team came iutnofbthe tunnel forbthe ierbfist Kinninick entrance. Did I believe they would go 12-0, NO, BUT I JUST FELT SOMRTHING DIIFERENT.

So proud of this team. Keep it up hawks....never give up!

After NW I thought we had a chance to run the table. Was worried most about Indiana & Nebraska but thought we might stub our toe once along the way. Unreal accomplishment to get this done!

The Pitt game was when I realized something was up. That game was a street fight for 60 minutes, and showed that we had the toughness to win in the B1G.

Had no interest in going to the Illinois State game even though I have season tickets and live in Iowa City. At the time, I thought Iowa beating Iowa State saved Kirk's job (I believe that Kirk thought the same thing!).

My buddy and I always go over schedule and predict win loss total. I really felt good going into season with beathard at qb. I had Iowa at 10-2 with losses to badgers and huskers. Once we beat Wisconsin I thought this was a possibility! After Indiana I knew it was a done deal.

The pivotal moment of the season was the fake FG against Illinois St. If you were in the crowd at that moment then you would understand. Also, if you watch a replay of the game, it appears that Kirk Ferentz was a little emotional at that moment and almost to say that win or lose that we were going to fight the rest of the season.

When Canzeri scored to go up 31-17 at Ames. Was tied with 2 minutes to go and had seen Iowa lose too many games like that in past years. That last 2 minutes showed me:

1. Iowa had determination to win
2. KF wasn't going to sit on a 7 point lead

Didn't expext 12-0 at the time, but right after Pitt game it just didn't seem like that kick could become just a nice footnote in a ho hum season.

Wisconsin for sure. I thought we had a clear shot at the West title with essentially a 2 game lead on Wisconsin.

Few will believe this but I started seeing the changes last yr with recruiting and when KF came out with the depth chart.in January I could tell something was different.

Obviously know one knew THIS was coming but I could sense a change and knew the ability was there if the LB'S and OTs held their own.

Iowa State game you could tell this team was special. Illinois State game the seed was planted that there was something really different than past KF teams
