Awww crap...........

Haven’t cried like that since my dad’s funeral 15 years ago. Awesome tribute.

I'm one of Kirks biggest critics, this kind of makes you reevaluate and puts things in perspective.
He's a good man, seen his emotion time and again in games.
Maybe the ones who say it isn't all about winning, it's the way he represents the school and the type of person he is are correct.
Thanks for posting the vid.

Sett1997 - Your post is also what is great about being Iowan. From someone who is Iowan, but hasn't lived there since 1988. Well done, and thank you.

Thanks for your post. There's no question the Ferentz family has made Iowa their home and feel a responsibility to give back to those in need. KF has a strong bond with the young men he coaches as has been recounted numerous times from past players. If KF was just a nice guy who won 3 games a year, I could see the critisism that comes his way. Yes, he makes some very frustrating decisions in games sometimes, as do all coaches. (What do you think the OSU fans were saying about Urban, standing in Kinnick, looking helpless, while getting his ASS handed too him)? Overall, I've been proud to say that KF was our coach for the last two decades, and my hope for him is one more run at that BIG title and a berth in the CFP, before he takes some well deserved time with those grandkids.

Amen and well stated. I'm in 100% agreement.

These are special times and we should appreciate them.

You watch that and for me, it really pisses me off when we have to read comments from idiots stating that Kirk only cares about his money. Kirk cares about the team, the University and the Children's Hospital, that has never been a question.

Kirk did not grow up wealthy and loved his father dearly. He gets it.

Mary's dad played in the NFL and was an NFL Official if I'm not mistaken.

That was sad, cute and the most awesome thing I have ever seen.

There is no tradition that beats that Hawk fans. My faucets sprung a leak there.

On my bucket list is to show up, in Hawkeye gear, and root for you for a game. Perhaps even start a yearly tradition of my own.
