B1G pre-seeds

If seeds hold here is how the points would be. Iowa is on a 2nd place island by themselves.

125: Steen is the 11 seed. He loses in 1st round to the 6 seed. He then draws the 14 seed in the consis and wins. Then loses to the 5 seed. That’s 0.5 points, right? What am I doing wrong?

Is this because Gomez is <100%?
Is it cut and dried that a wrestler’s BT dual meet record is all that’s considered as seeding criteria for the tournament?

If yes to the above, then Sasso gets the #1 seed because Gomez lost once, even though it was injury default. Technically his win over Sasso doesn’t count.

Nothing wrong at all, you are correct. Half point for a consolation win until placement matches.

Teske for sure but honestly what hurts more is Gomez getting the 2 instead of the 1. If Gomez gets the 1 there’s a very good chance at Murin making the finals.
Agreed. I see Gomez wrestling one match after his bye placing 6th.

Looking at the bracket for 133 there really isn’t a huge difference for Teske. If the seeds play out 5,6,7,8 are all in the consolation quarterfinals.

If Teske beats Foley and loses to RBY, Teske wrestles the loser of Heilman/LaMont. If he wins that one, he’s guaranteed 8TH place.
In the Consolation Quarters most likely the loser of Raugsin/Cannon. If he wins that, most likely the loser of Byrd/Mendez.

If Teske loses to Foley, he gets a bye and then the loser of Heilman/LaMont vs. Mendez. (We should hope Mendez wins).
If Teske wins that one he’s guaranteed 8Th.
In the Consolation quarterfinals most likely Nagao, who likely wrestles Byrd in the quarters and loses? If he wins, on to the Consolation Semis to face the loser of RBY vs. Raugsin/Cannon.

You are correct. I should have given a 1/2 point to wrestlers seeded 11 and 12 also. I only did seeds 9 and 10.

Anyone recall about what time wrestling gets done Saturday night? Central time.

According to his coach, he/they will all wrestle unless they have been red lighted by the training staff. We will see. And no I'm not using his pronouns. ;)
I certainly don’t know the extent of AG’s injury, but I hope his coach lets his athlete have some say in the matter. Clearly AG knows more about how he feels through the BIG than his bonehead coach. JMO

I dont get it. Why doesnt Sassos loss count then?

With his explosive style, if he has an injury similar to Eierman, he's going to be extremely limited.
This. Eierman was unlucky on which leg it was. If it was his other leg he would’ve been hampered, but he would’ve been better than he ended up. His right leg is his leg defense leg and riding leg. He lost his ability to do at least 90% of his wrestling. Gomez’ style requires both legs to be healthy. Expect a disappointing (for him) and early exit in Tulsa.

Heinselman is out. The 125 bracket will change now. If they just slide, Spencer now will have Peterson/Medley for his first match.

What happened to Heinselman, always thought fairly highly of him just seems like a good kid.
He wrestled against Cornell in their last dual I believe. Rough finish to his season, career possibly if he is presumably injured enough not to go to B1Gs.

That drops the B1G allocation down one as well. Feel bad for him. Was really an undersized 125 for several years. Once he got some size he really started to look good.

If I remember correctly, I think brackets came out late Thursday night last year.
