Iowa will face Michigan at 7:30pm tonight in Omaha for another elimination game. This game will also be on BTN, but if you're close it is going to be a gorgeous night so come out and support Iowa. I imagine Michigan is going to throw Evan Hill against Iowa tonight. Hill was pretty salty against Iowa last time going 5 2/3 of shutout ball with 2 hits and 3 walks.

I have no idea who the probably is for Iowa. Obviously we would like quality starts from whoever. I imagine it will be Tyler Peyton or it could be Andrew Hedrick.

As has been mentioned on here before, the winner will face Nebraska at 9am on Saturday and would have to beat Nebraska twice on Saturday to go to the championship game.

Very cool to see the Hawkeyes get some nationwide exposure with 3 games on BTN this week. Keep winning, and it will be even more games on BTN!

I have to hope that Iowa might be able to use this exposure around the nation to reel in some top baseball recruits...I know...it is Big Ten country and not the traditional baseball weather, but the fact that they are being seen in California, Arizona,Florida ect...cannot hurt.

I like to think that the BTN is a bit of an equalizer for Iowa and Big Ten schools in reaching across the nation in sports like baseball. With Heller possibly reviving the sport a bit , can Iowa get some momentum off of this years success?
I have to admit I envy the support and success of the Husker program...those Husker fans really love baseball.
If Iowa wins a bit more, I think it can be done at Iowa.

I follow Iowa baseball very little but plan on watching the game tonight. The odds are really against Iowa here and going forward in the B1G tourney but it's nice to see Iowa baseball improving.

Nebraska has gotten good baseball support since the DVH years and good for them. However, when they are very successful in those past years and this year (especially trny time) it tends to bring out the moron part of their fan base, Which I suppose it could/would for a lot of teams.

Iowa still has 2-3 guys that give us a lot of good/quality innings. If Iowa wins tonight, then Saturday is when we could really feel the injuries to our staff and the grind of a tournament. It's when not having Kaufman, Martsching, or a 100% Mathews hurts is now.

Nebraska really got spoiled in the Van Horn and early Mike Anderson years.

Hiring Van Horn, the building of the new baseball facility (Haymarket Park) and joining the Big 12 in baseball all kinda happened around the same time.......a perfect storm if you will.

What Husker basketball is going through right now is eerily similar.....joining Big Ten, new arena, new coach in Tim Miles.

It was the perfect storm for Nebraska. You automatically get games against Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, etc....

You can sell that stuff to recruits sort of you can a chance to play the best, beat the best, and be the best.

Looks like Iowa will go with Tyler Peyton (5-0 4.75 ERA) tonight and Michigan will go with Evan Hill (4-6 3.43 ERA).

Iowa beat Michigan an elimination game in 2010 to advance to the championship game.

Just not in the cards for Iowa tonight it appears. Pitching really struggled in the middle innings and offense hasn't been solid. Iowa's only extra base hit of the tournament was a double vs Indiana unless they get one in the 8th or 9th.

Iowa falls 7-1 to Michigan. Tough way to end the year but Iowa battled all year in every game this year and finishes 30-23. Iowa just couldn't get anything going on offense the whole tournament. They had 5 runs in 3 games and just one extra base hit. Hopefully they continue to build, work, and grow then come out and have a successful 2015 season.

Good thought but, I don't believe the BIG channel can be picked up in the states you mentioned. And if they can, I doubt if many seventeen and eighteen year olds are sitting around and watching the BIG tourney in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening.
