The number of P5 offers reported on Rivals is in parentheses. The number of asterisks in front of a player's name is the number of the three main recruiting websites in which they are rated as a 4 or 5 star prospect. Of the 11 players with only 1 reported P5 offer, 8 of them are committed to an in-state school. Wisconsin is pretty clearly off to the best start, while we seem to be running second. Illinois and Purdue are low on numbers, but have some studs committed that they are going to have to fight to hold onto. Nebraska is off to a slow start due to the coaching change, but they will most likely come around later in the year. Fleck is struggling to gain much traction in this class. Northwestern is Northwestern.

There are a few problems with comparing by offers: guys who commit early generally don't accumulate offers after committing, very few schools outside of the midwest spend much time recruiting the midwest, and there is no system for proving or reporting official scholarship offers. If you can put context behind each recruitment though, I feel it's a better system than the ranking system. I will update this throughout the year as the classes continue to take shape if there is any interest.

The problem with just tracking offers is that kids who attend large urban high schools, attend camps, and self promote with recruiting services and on Twitter will invariably collect a disprotinate number of reported offers compared to kids who don’t.

Just because the guys they get start off as three stars doesnt mean we will not love them. If you notice, every year KF and crew send out a first round of offers, then a second, etc. Where everyone is 100% correct is KF and crew do have a great eye for talent. What we cannot say is that there would be less Iowa players in the NFL if KF and crew got more of their first and 2nd round "offer" players. The boys have picked it up I think but that doesnt mean they can't find a "seth benson" every now and then to send to the NFL.

Ps. Great numbers OP, much appreciated.
