Baer in Europe

Everything I've been told about Nicholas (And it is Nicholas :), I don't care myself but I understand there is someone who does, very much.) includes a description of a young man with such confidence that he never doubts what he can do. And, just to be clear it isn't an arrogant confidence, just a strong belief that nothing is impossible.

Yeah, I've no doubt he'll be a leader of the team and I'll just bet that he "represents" in a good way to his teammates.

There are guys that can fly around the court and through shear athleticism pretty much just make things up as they go. Then there are basketball players who piecemeal each step, each dribble, each move as if lessons from several round ball classes. And then they put them together to form something called skills.

Baer is skilled, and may be one of the most skilled Iowa players ever by the time he's finished. Uhl is athletic and I believe what we are looking for is some of Baer to rub off on him.

If I could double like this, I would.

And I wish Nicholas would allow for a shortened version of his name, if only for posting purposes. I'll never say it to his face.

The thing that impressed me about Baer last year was that he was the one guy who could really drive to the basket and finish. His ability to do that was probably the only reason Iowa didn't lose by 60 to Nova in the tourney. He's quick, fearless, and has a real knack for sliding his body into tight spaces at full speed while somehow maintaining body control. If he can do that consistently this year, wow!

Dom's main problem is his defense, which was awful against most good interior players. Wagner was much better defensively and rebounding, but I don't know if he can shoot outside 10-12 ft. Jones might be the best fit with Jok, Baer, Cook, and Williams, if 100%. I am anxious to see what Moss can do, and believe he will be a critical player, if Iowa is going to compete for the top third of the conference.

To me uhl has always kinda had a pissy attitude, the majority of the time I should say. When he was playing well early he seemed better, he even give the six shooter gesture after making a three once which was pretty cool. Here's to hoping he plays well and he enjoys himself a little more.

As the dude said, well yeah that's like, just your opinion, man.
