Actually, Oregon is blue in Portland and the I-5 corridor, but not so much the rest of the state. Portland is true blue enough to make the entire state appear blue.
There are drop boxes permanently installed everywhere in Portland. There's one in the square across from the Federal courthouse, and it's right next to a Starbucks. I often wondered how much Starbucks trash ended up in that dropbox.
Here's why that this matters no matter where it happened.

Well, arson is bad. And, as mentioned, this particular district is very tight.
There is also the whole intimidation thing and rule of law.
We were in Oregon 2 weeks ago and the ads for this House race were playing non stop. We were in the blue parts, and in the ruby red parts. It matters.
