Ban acorns!

Fox tried to warn us.

You know that if he keeps his job, he will be getting acorn baskets for every holiday for the rest of is career. Until he complains to HR that he is being bullied at work and gets someone else fired for creating a hostile work environment.

I don’t. It’s because people see rare incidents as commonplace, and also crave simple answers to complex questions.
Body cams were instituted to assist law enforcement against false claims of bad policing.
Seems body cams have worked against law enforcement more often than not, showing incompetence and over zealous, unqualified Barney's.

BTW...the lawsuit against Nathan from Newton for false arrest was allowed to go forward by the court this week.

Body cams are there to capture reality. Helps will police reports being accurate and can illustrate what police see and/or have to deal with. However, it also shows incompetence and errors. Once police accept this and embrace it to improve how they work and remove those who should be there we will see problems. Other officers, departments and unions still often try to lie, hide or defend poor actions. By the way, the public who interact poorly with police need to be better too, but they are often drunk, high, crazy, upset, etc... and will have many charges added when they do step out of line.

To be fair, this is only the tiny fraction of the interactions between the public and the police that we see on media.

EXACTLY. People were always led to believe rogue, unqualified cops were an extreme minority.

Don't think that's the case.

I haven't read this whole thread, but there is some speculation here that the officer may have some PSD issues.

Apparently he was a combat veteran.

The article said that even after the footage had been reviewed, that the officer denied their version and refused to watch his own body cam video. Without that footage, he may have perpetuated his lie and gotten away with his reckless behavior.
This incident happened last November, and he resigned after a month long investigation.

He did two tours in Afghanistan and never saw combat.

"Hernandez was an active deputy in the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office between January 2022 and the incident, which occurred on Nov. 12, 2023. Prior to that, he’d served two tours in Afghanistan but never saw combat."

If he wouldn’t have had Pepsi, he may have been more calm and collected.

It would have been funny if it wasn't so serious, but the officer was actually dragging around and talking as if he had been hit and injured by a bullet. I didn't carry on like that after I ruptured my achilles tendon.

OT but how bad does rupturing your achilles hurt?
